Rutgers vs Niagara / Game Thread

This team can plat with so many different combinations. We can go big, small, half court, I would like to see if we can press. This season could be fun.

I guess we have all recovered from the 1 for 16 from 3 agains Monmouth.

I must admit, this comment confuses me. Do you expect Zero turnovers? They only have 10 for the game with 7 minutes left.

That's because you misread it. We scored after a timeout with a beautifully diagrammed play. I am not used to such things as a Rutgers fan.

Unfortunately only the first game I've seen this year but talk about night and day. Forget about the wins even though 4-0 and a road win is an accomplishment in itself for us. But seeing the rebounding, depth, size, bench players like Johnson my goodness. Obviously the competition is going to get better but right now they're fun to watch.

If trash talking without being in someone's face is a T, then lets see the refs start to call it on everyone. Games will be 4 hours long

True, but my guess is Corey said something outside the pail of normal trash talking. Dude is a competitor and words were exchanged earlier in the game between him and a player from Niagara.

Ref who called it was thirty feet away. He couldn't possibly heard the exact words. He was talking to himself. It was an absurd call.

But, you could tell that He was not even talking loudly as he approached the line tucking in his shirt right before the Tech......THEN......the Ref came from across the court near the 3 point line and called the tech.

That's what I was wondering. He was mumbling to himself, how did the ref hear what he was even saying.

4-0. Great response to going down by 1 early second. Reeled off 16 straight. Good ball movement, looked under control most of the time. Again, good defense and rebounding. Next 2 games Wednesday against North Texas and Friday against Hartford. So, should be 6-0 going into next Wednesday's ACC-B1G challenge game at Miami.

Key Stats

Rutgers shot 30-64: 47%, 7-19: 37% from 3 point range

Niagara: 18-59: 30%, but, 8-16 from 3 point line. But, Rutgers limited 'them to only 5 three point attempts in the 2nd half.

AMAZING STAT ---- Rutgers starters scored 36 points, the bench scored 42.

Johnson stepped up big time after Sanders was ejected .Rebounding remained solid but the team committed far too many fouls .Offensively, interior passing not as crisp especially against zone defense.Bench scoring was the big difference in the game with Johnson and Williams both in double figures.Pikiell continues to rotate players in throughout the game trying to get the right combinations.Niagara for a 0-4 team were effective making 3 point shots and making foul shots.

I like that coach is building a solid 10 man team using this OOC schedule to develop the players for BIG competition. Nigel played like a leader in 2h... just great taking game over. It's great that players are earning minutes and if you're not performing you sit because we got 10 guys playing.
