Well - the P5 schools on that list will eventually have an opportunity to eclipse Lehigh and the others at the top. Look at how many schools are listed there that we will never play again (well, I assume that we will never play again, until we learn of Lafayette's big push to join the ACC or something! 😁). But, from that list, Syracuse - and, further down, Army and Temple - really are our natural, regional rivals here in northeastern/big-time/FBS football. And, seeing as how regionalism will soon be extinct in college football, we should make more of a push to retain some of those games going forward.

True what you say for today.

But for the first 100 years of Rutgers football, those Lafayette, Lehigh, Columbia games were our regional rivals. In fact, the Rutgers-Princeton series was more or less a Rutgers quest to finally defeat Princeton since the first game in 1869. The real back-and-forth rivalries for Rutgers were the Stevens and NYU games because we were of the same size (i.e. not very large schools at all). They were usually well attended and drew in the alumni and were scheduled near the end of Rutgers seasons.

Where's the Middle Atlantic Conference records?
Help police! Police! DJ Spanky stole one of our conferences.

(Heh-he-heh-heh.)😋

By the way, they were both in the M.A.C. - University Division but they never met in those years.

I don't do conference stuff prior to the Big East: it's against my religion.

I keep scores against most of the teams we've played regularly over the last few decades:
