Basketball Rutgers WBB to play Rhode Island on Dec. 8

According to sources, Rutgers women’s hoops will play URI on Tuesday, Dec. 8 at 1:00 p.m.

Things could change of course. Rutgers is 1-0 so far after crushing Monmouth.

Earlier today, that URI schedule had a Rutgers game - I could have swore it was today, 12/1

That’s why I was thinking the game was today 12/1 vs 12/8

But you are correct. There currently is no RU game on the URI schedule.

And this is based on? Unless things have changed, Rhode Island is dreadful, They pretty much live to get beaten. Even the late Cathy Inglese spent some years as head coach and couldn't change the trajectory.

I much prefer a pre-season of tough opponents. We have seen that a pre-season of easy wins has dubious results in the long term.

I think it's better to play a weak opponent rather than have 13 days between games.

Glad we open w Wisconsin instead of the following game against Maryland, although the Terps just lost their star for the season.
Not sure if it's Hobbs or Sarah B trying to schedule games, but it's very hard to believe that both M and W BB couldn't get 1 stinking game.

This is not a normal season. Just sayin.

Arizona is in the same boat, only played NAU (OOC) and just added a contest against Idaho or Idaho State, whichever. Of course we are also in conference play, having beaten the LA schools last weekend.

On the ESPN women's bball site, the RU schedule now shows Sacred Heart (12/20) and Manhattan (12/22) both at the RAC, in addition to the Hampton game noted above. So the scheduling craziness continues.

Has there been an explanation why URI canceled our game and turned around and played someone else on the 8th?
