Rutgers will be Penn State Homecoming...

Without looking at your schedule that's an odd choice. Tickets to that game will sell regardless. You'd think they'd want a game with less demand.

Honestly, not so sure that's the case, IMO.

Probably an attempt to make us look as "small time" as possible, treating us like IU or Maryland

I can't remember the last time Penn State had a November HC game. But not a ton of options given the stretch from late September:

9/30 - Indiana
10/7 - at Northwestern
10/14 - bye
10/21 - vs Michigan
10/28 - at Ohio State
11/4 - at Michigan State

That said, I expected HC to be the Indiana game.

I agree. Probably IU.

It's their choice, certainly increases the chance for some rather interesting weather conditions

Following up, take this FWIW, but I've seen some chatter that PSU decided against 9/30 and Indiana because of Yom Kippur. With that, and the fact that the one home game in October is likely an 8 p.m. WhiteOut, the Rutgers game makes more sense.

We could be the homecoming opponent 4 times this year:
@ Nebraska
@ Illinois
@ Michigan
@ Penn State

We know of one now, let's see if the other three do the same.

Any idea what time they may set for that game? Or will they be dictated to by the B10/TV?

It should be September 30 vs Indiana, but PSU really wants to stick it to us. Some PSU fans are not happy about homecoming being so late in the season.

The B1G will announce kickoff times for HC during the spring (I believe it was in May ahead of the 2016 season). I'd guess it's virtually certain RU-PSU will be at either 12 p.m. or 3:30 p.m., and I'd bet on noon if forced to choose.

I don't blame them. A terrible Rutgers is a good thing for them.

If I was Penn State, I run us up by 100 points every year I could. Its good business.

Well we've been told that the B1G "only" schedules HC games at noon so I guess we'll see.

Well so that was a big fat lie from some poster from some B1G school LOL!!!

Never seen a homecoming game in September.

Having homecoming in September works when you want to have it before the buzz on the Rutgers football season dies.
