Rutgers Women’s Golf Opens Season at Badger Invitational

After the 1st Round Rutgers is T8 out of 13 after a team +10. Notre Dame leads at -4.

Rutgers was led by Leigha Devine's Even Par 72, good for T9, and Maeve Rossi's (T12) 1 Over 73. Rikki Nordvik shot a 76 with Nicole Ewing and Lucrezia Rossettin shooting 77's.

HOLE IN ONE for Leigha Devine on the 161 yard Par 3 12th!

After a slow start at 2 Over after 9, Devine played the Back 5 Under for a 69. Her 2 Round total of -3 puts her in 5th Place going into tomorrows final round.

The team is still in 8th after a +7, 295. They have an uphill climb to try to finish better than 8th but with a couple teams right behind them they might need a better showing than the past couple days to hold on to their spot.
 
Leigha Devine plays her last 7 holes 3 Under to catch Leader Montgomery Ferriera of Notre Dame and tie for the Individual Championship with a 3 round score of 72-69-68 = 209, -7. This is the 2nd Individual Championship for a Women's Golfer in 2022. Anna Maria Diederichs had won the Jackrabbit Invitational in the Spring.

The team finished where they started the day in 8th Place by shooting their 2nd straight 7 Over, 295.

Nebraska, the only team under par, ran away with the Team title besting Old Dominion and Notre Dame by 11 strokes. Wisconsin finished T4, Iowa T10, and Indiana 12th.
