You might be right. This may be a case of choosing RU for its' academic offerings while continuing to play. This young lady seems to be really focused on life after basketball.
And I'm sure the new facilities are playing a huge role in this burst of interest. If players are doing their HW and have followed recent stories in the women's game like that of Betnijah Laney and her time rehabbing injury/getting sharper here before going on a tear in the WNBA last year, it's a strong recruiting tool.
