I look on it as providing depth , but on scholarship.
Can't see her leaving FSU for a walk-on role at RU.
She's from Massachusetts and would expect if walk on would choose a program in that state.
Lassiter was rated as a four-star player via Prospects Nation.in her senior HS year
Along with being rated 19th among point guards in the 2017 class by ESPNW Hoopgurlz,

CVS and staff might think she has the talent to help, just didn't show enough of it at FSU
. So gave her a scholarship in the hope they can bring out the talent that had her receive 40 offers before deciding on Florida State

You might be right. This may be a case of choosing RU for its' academic offerings while continuing to play. This young lady seems to be really focused on life after basketball.

And I'm sure the new facilities are playing a huge role in this burst of interest. If players are doing their HW and have followed recent stories in the women's game like that of Betnijah Laney and her time rehabbing injury/getting sharper here before going on a tear in the WNBA last year, it's a strong recruiting tool.
