It brought together many of us most vocal posters who have been on the opposite side of the fence for the past few years.

I've seen pretty much each of the following saying the same thing
Myself, Bac, Mooby, Nuts, VKJ etc

STEP OFF THE LEDGE!

We seem to have a great hire here. This is where our energy needs to go
Greg needed to get back into coaching and this is a very good move for him.
His hire has not doomed Rutgers to failure. That will sit squarely with Barchi/Hobbs/Ash

Let's get back to our own excitement of a new era...

While I agree it's funny how two like minded people see different things. To me, the hire has made the board virtually unreadable again. Can't wait for the first NJ kid to commit there so we can read about how great Schiano is. I heard Eli Apple was going to transfer to Montclair state but now will stay.

Actually, I agree totally- board has become unreadable- that was what I am trying to say. Let's get back to the good things we have going on here at Rutgers. When you, I, Bac, Mooby and Nuts can all agree on something, it is a good time for all of us to take a deep breath.

IMO, this hire is good for both sides. Rutgers starts a new era with a fresh staff and Schiano gets back into coaching without jumping at a school that really could hurt us (UVA, MD, etc.).

People KNEW he would coach again. Some are being utterly unrealistic in saying he sucks (his success at Miami says otherwise) and some are being utterly unrealistic in saying he's going to help Ohio State's NJ recruiting (like they needed any help).

The truth is that this was one of the better places for him to wind up. He gets back into college in a strong program that has contended for championships in the last few years and works for a guy that often has assistants wind up with head coaching jobs. With Rutgers getting a chance to start fresh and Schiano getting a chance to start fresh, it's win win imo.

You're WRONG!!!! Schiano is gonna recruit every 3, 4, 5 and 6 star kid out of NJ - we'll never be able to get any of the kids in the NJ top 850! Furthermore, because he knows Rutgers so well, he'll be able to put together a defense at OSU which will lose us points. Expect to see scores now against OSU along the lines of 124 to -16. We're doomed, I tell ya, DOOMED!!!
