Fellow Scarlet Knight,
We greatly appreciate the support Rutgers Nation continues to show and your commitment to our programs as a season ticket holder. Rutgers Athletics is dedicated to the relentless pursuit of excellence and advancing the student-athlete experience.
Rutgers University announced today that all indoor athletic venues will operate in accordance with the executive orders issued by New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, currently limiting gatherings to 150 people or fewer. As a result, Rutgers Athletics fans are prohibited from attending any home events for the 2020-21 winter sports schedule, affecting the following ticketed sports - men’s basketball, women’s basketball and wrestling.
What this means for season ticket holders:
Beginning later today, season ticket holders will have the opportunity to make their decision on how they would like to allocate their paid balance on their season ticket packages. The Rutgers Ticket Office will send an email with instructions on how to reallocate your balance shortly. Season ticket holders will be able to select one or a combination of the following:
A. Convert your balance into a tax-deductible gift supporting the Rutgers Scholarship Fund
B. Transfer your balance over towards your 2021-22 season tickets
C. Request a refund
Also note, as a season ticket holder you will:
1. Be guaranteed the opportunity to renew your seat locations for the 2021-22 seasons.
2. Be credited for the consecutive year of holding season tickets.
What happens if the Governor’s Order changes later in the season?
In the event attendance policies change during the season, Rutgers Athletics will sell tickets on a single game basis. Season ticket holders and Athletic Donors will have priority access to any on-sales. Policies and procedures will be provided on a later date in the event of any changes.
Ticket to Success Campaign
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we, like all of our peer institutions, are facing a financial crisis. Ticket purchases, annual R Fund contributions and endowment support represented over $16M of the athletic department’s revenue in 2019-20. We rely on these revenues to fund scholarships, programs and opportunities for our 600+ student-athletes and compete at the highest level.
We saw tremendous generosity from our Rutgers community throughout this process in football, raising over $2M to directly support the Rutgers Scholarship Fund. As part of the Ticket to Success campaign, we will provide benefits to those who convert their balance into a donation. The benefit chart below is based off the total value of each account (paid + outstanding balances) and the percentage converted to a donation supporting the Rutgers Scholarship Fund.
Virtual Fan Sell Out
There is no replacing the deafening advantage our home fans provide at the RAC. However, we are excited to announce a way for that Rutgers spirit to be in the building. Fans can purchase cutouts to be displayed in the RAC throughout the season for men’s basketball, women’s basketball and wrestling events.
Season ticket holders who convert 100% of their total account balance will receive one free cut out for participating in the Ticket to Success campaign. All Rutgers season ticket holders (football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball and wrestling) can purchase a cutout at a special price of $50 per cutout and all other fans will be able to purchase fan cutouts at $60 each. Exclusive add-ons will be available to fans who would like to receive their cutout in the mail at the end of the season or signed by members of the coaching staffs.
Students will be able to purchase cutouts that will be displayed in our student section for a special rate of $30 per cutout.
Please let us know if you have any questions. The ticket office is available at 866-445-GORU.
