We see you are continuing the always reliable N.J. COM witch hunt ... give it a rest clown.... you are a NOBODY working in a nothing job most 9th grade journalism students could perform better at...too bad most fans of Rutgers have way too much class to fight back in this situation...If there is a way to shun you and your ilk we will find it though...Meanwhile, here's to a great season coach Flood, you have many, many supporters behind you ... fans , fellow coaches and Rutgers alums have shown this ...I would suggest Keith you run a piece on how to be fair and unbiased in a journalistic sense ...certainly you, Duggan and Politi could use a course in business ethics...

He crossed over to the dark side when he left the Home News Tribune (I think that was his former employer) and went to the SL.

Hes trying to avoid the unemployment line.

As are most "journalists"

Random bloggers that work for free have better Rutgers football content than these guys.

Here's a direct quote from Sargeant when someone commented on his objectivity involving JH.
.

"No objectivity? No one has been more fair to Hermann through the last 26 months."

So, you shouldn't be challenging his sense of objectivity and fairness.:sunglasses:

No love for the guy or NJ.com/Star Ledger, but the unemployment thing is bunk. More opportunity than ever out there.

And aren't we all reading his stuff online? Doesn't make much of a difference if the hard paper stops arriving on the driveway.

Sarge's Editor is the problem. He has an ax to grind with Rutgers. Have you notice each reporter didn't start at the SL/nj.com as A-holes, but developed into one. They have their marching orders to attack Rutgers when the opportunity presents itself. Banning the reporters isn't the solution. Going after the Editor is the best option.

Yes, Kevin Manahan makes no bones about his vendetta. His mantra is demean and denigrate.Sarge is a good foot soldier, but you make it sound like he's an unwitting accomplice. Not so, his heart is in it. Just ask him.

Duggan is too stupid to know any different or any better.

At this point, Politi is beneath contempt. it has become a playful romp for him. His peers avoid him.

Oh this Sergeant is quite the #$%& ... actually a real flaming #$%&

- today's (Wednesday) latest headline - "Rutgers Coach Kyle Flood declines to confirm contents of email" - said he would be "respectful to the university'' investigation and declined to address the contents of the email in question

- which is fundamentally exactly what Kyle Flood said ( and Seargeant reported) yesterday (Tuesday) - "Asked whether he would consider making the email public, Flood said he would "go through the university process first before'' he makes that decision."

So is this going to be some jackass game of asking essentially the same question day after day ( a question that logic & commonsense would dictate being answered the same way until the process is over ) - and then run breathless sensationalized headlines - like it is some great revelation?

Just saw this - What a ----ing joke. Its almost like this guy has some kind of vendetta against Flood. At least for once, everyone is rallying around Flood.

Keith Sargent is to Sports Writing as Nickelback is to Rock Music

Keith Sargent is to Sports Writing as John Tesh is to Musical Composition

Keith Sargent is to Sports Writing as Thomas Kinkade is to fine art ....

He gets clicks. Even if you aren't clicking you are peaking peoples curiosity by discussing it and getting them to click. The more you say not to click the more clicks he is getting.

This isn't getting the play outside of NJ that I guarantee they were expecting. So we'll just keep getting more articles with a slightly different twist so they can try and keep this story in the spotlight as long as possible, before the clicks dry up.

The opportunities are out there, but that's exactly the problem for traditional sources and reporters. Most of them are free, and even the fragmented (because readers have many different options) ad revenue based on clicks is in decline.

The hard paper included advertisements and also a subscriber fee. So the paper not arriving on the driveway is a major factor in what has hurt their business.

What does an adjunct making 5 grand have to gain with leakin this story?

Is it possible that he got paid y nj.com for this story?

The next headline on nj.com today is Former Rutgers star Anthony Davis faces backlash for tweeting violent video...what a duckin joke that paper has become

Seems to be the most plausible explanation. When a news organization moves towards being more about editorial opinion rather than the news, it really prevents sympathy for the organization as a plus for society. If it goes under, then too bad.

Also, how did nj.com/Star Ledger get their hands on this story? I'm willing to believe it wasn't someone from the athletic dept., but someone from the administration. Hermann flushed out the rats a few months ago from the athletic dept. There is still some cleaning to do around Rutgers.

Wouldn't be surprised if it was someone in the RU Administration leaked it, but can't rule out a rat or two is still roaming around in the Athletic Department.

I'm quite certain that a search of Keith Sargeant's Inbox would reveal a LOT of porn.

Just sayin'.
I don't know about that, but he does have solid academic credentials. He went to Middlesex Community College and Kean. Wonder if he applied to RU. OMG, is this Sargent's revenge?

No. Really. There's lots of porn in Sargeant's inbox.

Well, maybe it's in his spam folder.

But it's there.

Sargeant is basically finished....universally hated by RU fans. He was once liked but over the past year he has turned into a flaming pile of turd

No, bad ones are free. Plenty of paying work available.

The revenue models are still in flux, but that doesn't mean everyone's starving. Subscriber fees were a nominal revenue stream that paid for basic expenses, many of which don't pertain to online publishing. The money was, is and will be in the advertising. Plenty of properties making all kinds of money that would have been all but impossible in the old print world, and plenty of contributors getting paid for their part.

Like I said, most of Sargeant/Politi/Duggan's stuff is already published on the Internet. Is that going to all go away if they close the printing presses? Are you going to stop caring about RU football because you can't get ink on your hands while reading about it? The audience is there, and larger than ever, and someone will be there getting paid to serve it.

I have one word for him, don't need to get into where he received his education(Kean), or what historical background in sports writing he may or may not have, all I have to say about Mr. Keith Sargent is that he is nothing more than a "LOSER!"
My guess, never got picked to play on any team as a youngster, never made friends easily, always was stuck with the "ugly" girl(my apologies to all the "ugly" girls in the world). And, most likely was always left out of any meaningful conversations by anyone at Kean College or otherwise!
Loser!

These nj.com/SL douchers, like many other so called "reporters", never put things in perspective. It is clear that KF was absolutely correct when he mentioned he was disturbed by the "tone" of the original POS Sarge article. When you are too lazy to present facts, put them in perspective and resort to sensational language in your headline and opening paragraph, you know you are small time. And his arrogance in the comments section of one of his articles where he declares "I don't get what KF means when he says he didn't like the TONE of my article…. whatever that means".

All these douchers can do now is hide behind the BS canned message of "we are reporting on an investigation of KF that the university confirmed is ongoing. What is so wrong about that?"

If you read their articles, it is soon apparent that these guys just write a paragraph or two for one story and then copy and paste a few more paragraphs from their previous stories. Talk about the poster children for lazy ass journalism!

Is there a way we can start a campaign to contact the advertisers for NJ.com and SL and let those advertisers know that if they continue to advertise that fans will cease supporting their business?
