After having this thread about 10 times over the years, I am going to listen to some posters who gave tips on how to marinate, cook, and slice this horse meat to be more tender.

I am going to give it a try, but I swear to god, if these tips produce rubber, I am coming after you, and you know who you are!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

Somebody should do a board-themed tailgate this year. London Broil. Pork Roll (not Taylor Ham). Etc.
Don't forget some subs from Subway. Although they should probably looked picked over and several years old at this point.

Spanky,
Please drop off 5 lbs. to my Tailgate in the Yellow Lot @ 9:30am on Saturday.:okay:
Thanks

Can we just settle this once and for all with a Scarlet Nation Meat-off? Pick one game. Anybody who wants to participate can enter any cut of meat they like. Winner gets to give a definitive thumbs up or down to LoBro and declare "Nobody beats my meat!"

I nominate Spanky as one of the judges.

Buy the Angus cut instead of the regular. It costs a little more but worth it. I generally will marinate it similar to my flank steak.

If NFL footballs were made from Shop Rite London Broil there would never have been a "deflate gate"

impossible to tenderize that leather :chairshot:

Impossible if you're not very good at basic preparation and cooking techniques. Or have no teeth.

So you had brittle old guy teeth and they cracked when you ate juicy red meat? Probably should have gotten them replaced earlier so you didn't have to deal with that at the dinner table. Hope it was at your own home, at least.

what are you, a butcher for Wakefern or just somebody who likes to make everything personal?
I've been in Grocery Food CPG for 35 years and I can tell you Shop Rite Meat Dept. is very poor. But you go enjoy it. The guy who said Skirt or Hammer steak gets it. (and BTW,,I have all my teeth AND all my hair)

Calm down, boss, a bit of back and forth, nothing personal about it.

Incidentally, I didn't really think that you lost your teeth when eating London broil. See, we weren't being that serious.

ok..LOL. I've had a serious chip on my shoulder of late. Must be my early season anxiety cropping up. :eyes:

Haha, on occasion, I've even been told I have a chip on my shoulder. Okay, maybe regularly. Daily?

And, yep, early season jitters can do that to ya. Here's hoping the team comes out strong this weekend and starts putting those jitters to rest! [thumb2][cheers]

please back to the topic at hand...I grilled two delicious puppies last night and will post pics later. Makes for great sandwiches with horseradish sauce the next day

I think you guys are cooking lobro too long. 20 minutes tops for me. And take it off even sooner because it still cooks until its cut.

I marinated one with balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, lemon juice, and Italian herbs. It was out of this world.

Used a similiar recipe this week. balsamic, soy sauce, worcestire, crushed garlic, lemon pepper, ketchup, oregano, basil, smoked paprika. Marinated for about 20 hours, grilled on each side for about 8 minutes. It was DELICIOUS! Very tender, came out medium rare. The acid in the lemon juice or balsamic is key to tenderizing.
