Since our Rutgers players seem to prefer "Black Out" colors and played a great game against Michigan State, should we declare another "Black Out" game for beating Ohio State?

What creative "Black Out" ideas can you come up with for the game?

The team has worn black at home for a 2nd time in a season before without calling it an official blackout....

Ha. Thought the same thing. Keep it red so the stadium actually looks filled. Sad but true

Poppycock. The stadium looked fine sat and at most blackout games I've been to.

Truth is the blaxks just look much better. And think about it. - do you feel better for an important meeting in your best suit or your worst one?

I say black it out again. But don't need to make it official.

Yea a blackout that isn't made official. That sounds like a brilliant idea chief. You realize people still refuse to wear black at the blackout games

The game is going to be on ABC in primetime against the #1 team in the country and the team can't get fired up, then there are bigger issues.

That said, our black uniforms look a heck of a lot better then our "reds".

I love the black unis but if we as players and as fans need to find something to get us up to play the returning national champions and #1 team in the nation on our home turf then maybe we should find a different sport.

it doesn't seem like the school color(s) mean much anymore with the various unis you see week after week.
How about Tenn. last Saturday? They looked like laundry bags.

If the game is going to be on ABC prime time let's exercise some common sense and put on the red uniforms so we look like a B10 football program and not some......

The blacks are sick. They are a school color. Make a statement on field and with the unis!

From the official site:

"Rutgers' official school color is scarlet. Rutgers scarlet is often used in conjunction with black, gray, and white."

Umm you obviously didn't read your own post. Rutgers only official color is Scarlet. "Conjuction colors" aren't official. The Big Ten also only recognize Scarlet as Rutgers singular color. So the school and the conference completely put your statement in the waste basket

"Only" is the word you added, it wasn't from the official site. Clearly we use other colors, black being one.

The Scarlet/Black/Grey/White Knights? lol

Anyway, let the team decide what they want to wear. Whatever pumps them up is good with me!!!

LoL the throwbacks looks horrible, boring, and old. No thanks. Get over that already.

And as for looking like a "B1G" school, its not 1920. The black uniforms look GREAT and anyone with the most basic human taste knows that.

This is ridiculous. Not everyone goes out and buys a new wardrobe for 1 game a year. It was cold so I wore a coat, my coat was blue does that make me a bad fan?

No it doesn't and I never said it did. People still refuse to wear black. I saw plenty of folks in red. The same red shirt they wear every week. So be it.

Point is you announce a black out game in adavance. MSU was announced before the season. A " unofficial" blackout is laughable.

I think its more about the crowd showing up in black. But definitely - black is our best look anyway in our current set. its at night. At home. Against the #1 (presumably) team in the country. on national TV.

So yes - definitely black.

Save the scarlet throwbacks or the salmon jammies for a nooner on BTN regional.

The idea that blacks arent Big Ten worthy is crap. OSU is wearing black this week. And as I said - the black uniforms look less minor league than the red ones anyway. its the red uniforms that look un-Big Ten like. The black ones a big time.

Absolutely not, sorry, 1 "blackout" game per year. Doesn't mean the team can't wear black however, for OSU, I'd prefer they don't and go with the "old' Scarlet tops and White pants (yeah, I know, not gonna happen...). We should NEVER play OSU/Nebraska/Wisconsin for a "black out." Thing about "why" for second guys and gals!
