Just like you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink, I suspect you can "oversight" a player all you want, but you can't make him pass a test. Or so it would appear.

Not to split hairs, Boggs (and former player Johnson) are charged with armed robbery, on 2 occasions. Barnwell is part of the group that participated in an "unprovoked" attack on 4 other students.
