So what's the penalty going to be for Elmer's mistakes???

Soft and none.

It's been rumored that Valdosta St. players received pencils from their book store that were already sharpened. The NCAA is going to put all of their compliance people on this case as it is an additional benefit compared to the schools just giving out pencils that are not sharpened yet therefor it is a level 1 infraction. NCAA Bylaw WTF666SMH666STFU clearly states that pencils cannot be sharpened do to the inherent risk of injury while walking with them. Most think Valdosta St will take the brunt of the punishment for many schools who currently are under the NCAA cloud and will receive very harsh penalties if not have their program shut down for an extended period of time. Finding are suppose to be released the day after LOI signing.

This reminds me of how cold it must be in your neck of the woods. ;-)

I sorta agree, maybe vacated wins, thats about it (does that mean the Pinstripe Bowl against ND was never played?)

I do think that Flood will get a show cause penalty from this.

And after the NCAA gets done with us, the blowhards in the State Legislature will have hearings & call for everyone to be fired & call for more oversight from the government. Then the candidates for governor will weigh in with their plans...

Hard to see this becoming monumental.
There are "7 points" - confined to one program & one fired HC, and one fired AD - - and each of these have been known, examined and addressed via corrective action in various ways - and to a great extent in conjunction with NCAA.

Don't believe that any of these "7 points" represent breaking news - or profound revelations that had not previously seen the light of day - the only thing close may be any aspect that would have been linked to student confidentiality and could not have been readily released.

Most - but not all of the time the NCAA saves its wrath for instances where there was concerted effort to conceal, deny & hide for extended time - it would seem that RU moved forward at a reasonably swift pace ( based on what is reasonable for bureaucracies) and it appears there were no concerted efforts to hide or deny anything

Probation would probably be the worst sanction. It will be interesting to see if Flood is hit with a show cause.
