St Peters Prep KJ Gray decommits from BC

The DC just left for Michigan. I wonder if he will try to follow him up there
doubt it....not that highly regarded but just what we need...this is where he wanted to be..if Mich offered thats where he'd of committed..IMO..he's more a regional recruit than national..

He will either go to Pitt, Temple or a B1G school like all other recruits from NJ.

The DE-commits are becoming almost as popular as the commits nowadays. Pretty soon they will start having pressers for the DE-commit announcements. No reason to get excited about anyone committing until LOI day.

It is starting to become rare if a High Schooler stays committed these days. That is why we need to go after any kid that we need even if they "committed" elsewhere. Because too many kids commit just to save their spot until something better comes along. It happens everywhere now. The more you pay attention to other schools the more you realized how common it has gotten.

I don't see Gray as a corner.

I see him as a very good 2nd receiver in college. He is not the guy that is going to stretch the field vertically. I see him as the guy who is crafty and always gets open. He is also well put together already. I'd say above average hands, but could improve them. When matched up against PC (and all their stud DBs) he was always open.

I've watched him play a lot for 3 years. he doesn't strike me as having the hips the to be a starting corner at an elite level. Not sure he hits like a safety either. But who knows what the rivals people look at...

He's so developed already. I feel like he could learn to play safety maybe SS if he has the desire. I hope we go after him.

I'd love to go after him, but I love it whenever a SPP guy looks at us.

My one concern for him though, is that he gets recruited as an athlete and spends his entire career changing positions here.

He might be better served going to a place that is going to play him on one side of the ball and let him continue to develop there. Rather than bring him in as an athlete and he ends up the 4th WR his frosh year and then gets moved to a thin D backfield that spring and ends up the 4th corner and then bulks up to safety etc., etc., etc..

He plays with a chip on his shoulder too. I've liked his toughness the last 2 years.

We have no depth at WR or DB. We need as many good athletes as we can get. He can contribute right away on special teams. Ash will find the best spot for him.

That O-D flip-flopping occurred during the last two regimes. We don't know if that will occur with such frequency in the Ash era.

Looks like Ash is already on it. KJ tweeted about it and seemed pumped that he called.

Ash is on it, now Hilliman knows the feeling (j/k). Hopefully Hillimans foot heals well.

Aren't we in the dead period?

What are the rules for contact? They can call but can't visit in person?

So many rules, so little time...lol
