Given that this an assault change and that it is the 2nd incident for Carroo, the first one being minor, does Flood feel compelled to dismiss Carroo from the team? The other guys were bounced from the team after one arrest. Given that this is a simple assault charge and by all measures (prior to this week) , Carroo has been a very clean kid, would Flood be able to reinstate Carroo after one or more missed games?

Something tells me that the SL would call his reinstatement "star treatment". Would there be backlash against Flood if Carroo plays this season? I'm conflicted because I'm not entirely sure what happened Saturday night. Therefore, I up in the air on whether he should play anytime soon. Thoughts on whether Carroo should come back, knowing what we know?

Yes, no one can answer until we hear if charges are sustained.

Well I was saying that we needed to let the process play out with the people involved with the other assault. I assume Flood saw enough evidence against those players to make a definitive decision.

If Flood is unsure of the evidence you let it play out. If you are sure of the evidence against Caroo then you dismiss him. I don't think it's star treatment but rather uncertainty.

The fact Carroo is dismissed indefinitely, instead of permanently, is telling, in my opinion. Think there's alot of "facts" about the case that are going to come to light. Flood dismissed the others fairly immediately..they were also dismissed from the university. The fact Carroo is still at Rutgers speaks volumes, and tends to lead me to believe Carroo might not be guilty. We'll see.

Why is this even a question? No matter how this plays out, the media around here led by the NSL will report it the same negative light as they always have.

There is no doubt in my mind it'll be either special treatment, Rutgers criminals, or both.

The first time Peele was charged, he wasn't kicked off the team. His charges were eventually dropped and he wound up back on the active roster. That's probably not a great example though.

He is getting the reverse star treatment. Most schools would have him suiting up on Saturday.

This. We could really use him Saturday against penn State . And Kansas . Then suspend him for the Michigan state game , figure a loss there anyway . Then let the court case play out .
At the end of the year this team will be judged by its record . It would be a shame to have a bad record . A real shame .

If we "could really use him" to beat Kansas at home, the wheels will have totally come off. Against Penn State, yes, we could've used him. Oh well - next man up.

Agree with a lot of the above. Good ole southern star treatment would be "on the team unless found guilty" followed by new school giving player a much deserved "second chance.".

We seem to take the approach that players are suspended when charges are filed. Suspension can turn into dismissal on the coaches' call. I am not so sure that has much to do with evidence. I think the immediate dismissal of the guys from 2 weeks ago probably was the result of a conversation between football staff and those players and/or corroboration from other players/people involved. I think if you talk to the player and he insists he did nothing wrong (and it is not obvious that he is guilty), you have to leave him as only suspended until the legal side shakes out.

Given what has gone on here (timing, domestic violence component), I'm sure the school will be very sensitive to this and don't think we will see Caroo on the field unless charges are dropped. Given that the complainant is one of our hostesses, I hope everyone is staying as far away from her as possible.
