meh. that wasn't a great trailer. However the originals had shitty trailers too. Episodes I, II, III had the best trailers imo. Clone wars was the worst off the movies though.
My rankings from best to worst
1. Empire Strikes Back Ep V
2. Return of the Jedi Ep VI
3. Phantom Menace Ep I
4. Revenge of the Sith Ep III
5. New Hope Ep IV
6. Attack of the Clones Ep II
3 and 4 are somewhat interchangeable imo.
Apparently this movie series follows a different timeline from the extended universe books where Luke created a new Jedi Academy, hooked up with Mara Jade and then faced down the Yuuzhan Vong invasion. How much has time passed since episode 6? Jedi's are already a myth?
there has been debate about this. Tonight's trailer revealed and did not reveal a lot of things. What it has revealed could still fit within that timeline. Empire through the Imperial army and other 3rd parties made a lot of comeback attempts prior to the Yuuzhan Vong series. I'm still holding out hopes for 10-12 to be the YV plot. Would be such a cool series, it was my favorite in the EU other than the Republic Commando Series.Apparently this movie series follows a different timeline from the extended universe books where Luke created a new Jedi Academy, hooked up with Mara Jade and then faced down the Yuuzhan Vong invasion.
yeah the ewoks sucked. only real bad thing with return off the jedi. Ewoks and the weird hippie vibe at the end.
ep 1-6 in that order.Ok. Let's make believe one has never seen any of the movies. What should he watch and in what order without being confused/annoyed.

Somebody likes phantom menace????? Wtf@vkj91 I was born in 87, so more than half were NOT released before I was potty trained (half were ;)). And yes that still gets me a vote.
@RUMcMahon New Hope ending was pretty dull. It was pretty lame and i've been watching those movies on repeat since 1990. I really enjoyed the beautiful cgi landscapes, battle scenes and lightsaber duals from Phantom Menace. Not to mention the pod racing. Phantom Menace beats New Hope going away imo.
Close to mine. I'd have 5-4-3-6-1-2. I just loved 5 (Empire Strikes Back), which had those awesome training scenes with Luke and Yoda, plus the great battle scenes on the ice planet Hoth. 4 (Star Wars) has to be up there because it's the original and it's still a great story. 3 and 6 are very close for me. 3 has my favorite battle scenes in the whole series: Yoda vs. the Emperor at the same time that Annakin and Obi-Wan are battling. While 6 has the amazing Luke vs.the Emperor scene, with Vader finally siding with his son to destroy the Emperor, but it also has the annoying Ewoks. 1 and 2 are mostly forgettable. I'm excited for #7, just to see what they do next. My son was telling me they're going to have marathons showing all 7 - I'd only consider that in Cinema Suites (the recliner theaters with food/liquor served), lol.Blitz - that list is suspect (lol) , Phantom over New Hope ... Wow. My list :5,4,6,3,1,2

well in the books, by this time, luke had started a jedi academy on yavin iv. So you'd think for him to get students, people would need to know that jedi exist. Plus Jacen Solo (Han's son) turns to the dark side and kills Ben Skywalker (luke's son) iirc so people would know about the sith too i'd guess. But that would all be a non-issue if it were an alternate universe/timeline to the one in the books. I would think they'd choose to go with a fresh timeline so that no one knows what to expect. Keeps it fresh for everyone.

The first two were cool because I was like 9 when the first one came out. Since then I don't get it. Terrible writing. Care Bears. Racist Rasta guy. Bad acting.
If I learned anything in this thread, it's who was playing Dungeons and Dragons in their dorm room on Saturday nights...
episode 3 also had arial combat when Anakin and Obi Wan were fighting in the attack on Coruscant during the start off the movie. It also had a sick ship crash landing when they were "freeing" Palpatine from General Grevious and Count Dooku.I liked the trailer. I feel like it will be similar to the new Star Trek films he did- 80% new cast being led along a little bit by the old people.
That being said, I'm conservatively excited for it. I'm really hoping for something fresh. Not just another Death Star. Episode 1 was bad on so many levels, same with 2. 4-6 were ok. As a kid though I lived episode 4. Dogfights especially and this one looks like it has some. I just don't want to be let down again.

You don't get it because you turned into an adult.

Is Jar Jar Binks (sp?) the worst character ever in Star Wars?

Pretty much this. So hyped up by reading my precious Bantha Tracks, that I was pretty much a raving lunatic by time those AT-AT Walkers were spotted in the binoculars.I'd have 5-4-3-6-1-2.
