Because, it's in the New York Times, and probably in the SL as well. The two players who did this stupid thing played for our new coach(last year), and that is info. worthy, even if we don't like it. I firmly believe to address these type of situations as soon as they happen, then move on. If we try to deflect, or not acknowledge them at all, then they will balloon, with bad outcomes for everyone, just ask Flood. Then why bring it up
No $hit. A $5K REFUND! This sounds drug related to me. And why would you leave $5K in plain sight?what 23 year old receives a $5K tax return?
Very disappointing...and yes it means something.
What exactly does it mean?
That 2 kids recruited in to the Stony brook program apparently broke the law. Not enough data to form any conclusions, but data nonetheless.
Do they care, by and large? Probably not. Will it be a story in the Herald? Absolutely. It already was. http://www.miamiherald.com/news/nation-world/article71308992.htmlTwo Georgia football players were arrested on weapons charges. So, does that reflect poorly on Coach Richt or Coach Smart ( or anyone)? You think anyone in Miami gives a crap?
Just an AP story linked in their general National & World news section. No angle or mention of Richt at all. Just a run of the mill "football players behaving badly" story.Do they care, by and large? Its impossible for any coaching staff to have 24/7 control over every player on a team. There always will be a few bad recruiting choices that get in trouble at college. They must be disciplined by the criminal justice system and the school.OK. Nothing to do with Rutgers though. If anything, speaks volumes of Coach Pikiell for keeping the kids in check during his tenure if they are such bad kids.
Lol um no.Very disappointing...and yes it means something.
...I want to say this post means you're an idiot but I probably shouldn't.Very disappointing...and yes it means something.

Interesting to note that I haven't seen any articles or tweets about this story from any NJ/Rutgers centric writers or columnists. One interesting exception: Tom "Proud Brick HS Alum" Luicci linked to a LI Newsday story.
