He tweeted that he was blessed to receive an offer from his home state, WVU. Then went on to retweet a bunch of WVU people, and now tweets this:
Show him some love, RU twitter army.

Some said that this would happen and that WV is his "dream" school.
IF he flips, it is just further evidence of the entire process being more of a joke than anything else.

Well if he's confused because he received an offer from the Mountaineers after committing to Rutgers 2 days ago, wondering just how committed he really is to becoming a Scarlet Knight ?
RU needs to find out quickly.

LOL. Anyway this is interesting timing from Holgorsen to say the least...
Agreed, and I do care. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.
Not very impressed with Holgorsen. Seems like he has been treading water since 2011. Last year was better but that loss to K-State was a killer.

The joke part is that WVU only offered because Stills decided to work at Rutgers. WVU is so arrogant that they think they can snap their fingers and have Stills run to them.

I think WVU figured they could string Stills along until the end of the recruiting cycle, and take him if they had space - more with an eye toward his brother next year. His commitment to Rutgers forced their hand to offer him earlier... and now he has a decision to make.

To me it seems like Rutgers has shown sincere interest, and WVU has just been screwing him around.

They probably can. He's a legacy and lifetime fan living 20 min from campus.
I agree and I don't blame Stills if he flips, that was his dream. What is sad is if he got to play here to see what it will be like he would probably stay at RU. I do blame WVU for not offering Stills until Rutgers fell in love with him.

Two days ago," I've made the best decision of my life". Today, "so confused, so so confused"

Ah the mind of a teenager, where the only sure thing in their young lives is that the sun is going to rise in the morning and set in the evening.

+1. That about sums it up.

WVU .. they were good once, right?

Just sayin..... [winking]

Gotta admit, I'm not a fan of the way Holgorsen handled this situation.

Interesting but not at all unexpected. The WVU staff had met w/Stills several times and had not made an offer. At least this confirms, more or less, that there's no problem w/the kid that WVU saw, but our staff missed, that prevented them from offering. Would be great to get Still's who seems pretty good in his own right and whose brother might have followed him to RU.

But I have to think WVU is more likely to pick him up. Pretty sure I read somewhere that the kid had been hoping to pick up an offer from WVU.

Would be interesting to play another Hillbilly/Guido game after Ash has had a couple years to get the spread O running here. Not to mention how much fun the week leading up to the game always was.

Definitely miss Hillbilly/Guido week on these boards. Fun stuff.

Peek his twitter... retweeted about 30 WVU fan tweets. He's gone. Such a forced offer from WVU. Recruiting is a crazy game

Still(s) waters run deep.

And most of the water is POLLUTED.

The whole concept that a VERBAL means something
is as valuable as the Notorious RBG's comments on Trump / her
"apology"....or most of the things that Trump says to begin with (e.g. The Russians should hack the DNC; the Wall with Mexico; the ban on immigration of refugees; Megan Kelly bleeding from here / there...on / on).

I think the NCAA is a bunch of Pimps / Whores....and we'd all be better off if we let someone from the streets run this two bit organization.

Other than that I hate the UN....and I'm fine, how the F' are you Wyatt?

Stills, it's really not that confusing, WVU played you! At this point in time, you show to be a man of character, or you won't.
RU = Better Academics, Better opportunity, Better Conference, Better coaches, Better future, Better, Better, Better......!
WVU = Dad played there

Chose wisely...

Hate to say it this way Mr.Otterstat but technically as a homeless person struggling top earn ANY money so that I can pay for my football ticket (spo that I can have some sort of social life) to commit and make the comments he did one day and then (assuming he does) fl dys lateri, t shows a classless arrogant 17 year old whom, if I had my way (my opinion-that I can share publically on Stevepikell.com-) would just happen to be tarred and feathered by the community (edited because black lives matter) . My opinion and college sports from all angles at its worst.

Agree. -WVU lets this kid swing in the wind after having every chance to offer him before RU gave Darius his first, (and at the time...only), P5 offer, and they didn't do it. -So now, after he commits to Rutgers, suddenly he becomes "worthy" of an offer from the Mounties??

Hey Darius, it's your decision and you have every right to go wherever you choose. The fact remains, though, that you were a COMPLETE AFTERTHOUGHT to WVU prior to your RU verbal. ...Just keep that in mind when you're trying to sort out any confusion you have about which school you want to attend.

I didn't expect him to stay if wvu offered him. Looks like that might be happening. I would want my son to follow me to RU. He didn't (went to Lehigh) but he is making out fine now.

Perhaps RU is who is being played here? Maybe he knew if he committed to RU it would make WVU get off the fence on whether or not they were going to offer? If they didn't he still was going to a P5 school so he is safe regardless. Just food for thought.

Let him go, if he wants to decommitt, without bashing the kid and consider it a blessing.
Not that Stills isn't any good or I don't want him to be a Scarlet Knight, but because he'd always be wondering if he should have took the offer from the school he always wanted to play for .
His confusion about what to do because of being offered by WV right after committing to RU
makes me think he's really not a solid commit and might not really want to spend the next 4 years in Jersey .
Especially if he has a hard time fitting in as a Scarlet Knight and needs to redshirt.
Nothing against the kid, but it seems RU was always 2nd to the Mountaineers ,
even when he committed. Maybe it would be best for all if he left, but better if after thinking about it: Darius decides RU is # 1 and being a Scarlet Knight is what he really wants .
