Super OT: If Villanova men played UConn women

Look, if it was a free-throw shooting contest, a lot of women's teams would beat a lot of men's teams. But fundamentals only go so far when you are physically being utter dominated at every position by superior size, strength and speed.
The women use a smaller ball while using the same rims. Let the men shoot at a much larger rim to even the playing field.

I was a slightly above average college shot putter I would have won the women's Olympic gold medal. The level of athleticism and strength just isn't close.

Why do you say that? Because the caliber of women's play is not as high as men's? If that's the measuring stick, why watch college sports at all - why not just stick to the pros?
Agree 100%. I enjoy watching many women's sports, as the games are well-played by well coached teams giving their all. Of course the women wouldn't be competitive with men, but they are competitive with each other, which is all that matters to me when watching an athletic event. For example last night's women's final four games both went to OT and were incredibly exciting to watch.

I assume that many if not most on this board are at least casual fans of RU wrestling. For those who are not, we have an All-American and NCAA finalist named Nick Suriano. He wrestles at 125 pounds. He is celebrated on these boards, and properly so. But any competent heavyweight wrestler would defeat him easily. Does that in any way detract from his accomplishments?

Why can't we apply the same standard to WBB, or women's sports in general?

You find me a 125 pound woman who can outwrestle Nick, and then I’ll listen.

Oh, and just kidding.
