Let’s see if we can have some nuanced discussion here. No hyperbolized “savior” talk. No dismissing the opponent level or obvious statements like “can’t rely on a frosh QB” Let’s just talk ball.

What separates Surace imo is his accuracy. He completed over 69% (hehe, nice) of his passes this year. Ajani was at 62% as a senior and Wimsatt/Simon were both below 60% (talking about Wimsatt’s junior year, obviously). Surace also had just two INT’s, substantially less than the rest of this crew but to be fair, he also threw far less passes.

We’re talking about a coach’s kid so the fundamentals are clearly there. He does a decent job keeping his eyes downfield when the play breaks down and he’s pretty fast - a legit dual-threat but that certainly won’t separate him from the other guys on our roster. I wouldn’t say his arm strength is anything special - looks average for a Power 5 commit to me (let’s say worse than Gavin and better than Evan/Ajani coming out of high school).
