Happy with the way Ashnault gutted out today’s win over a formidable opponent. He could’ve maybe wrestled better but got a nice W.
Not happy with the way Suriano lost, or frankly the way he wrestled.
I think facing OK St will be a good thing for both in the long run but the coaches need to provide both some critical feedback.
To Suriano: SHOOT. Sitting back making sure a mistake isn’t made and wrestling for one late takedown is going to win a national title. Be confident and be on the offensive. If you lose then so be it, but don’t go down without shooting your best shot.
To Ashnault: it isn’t going to be easy, and the finals are not assumed. Treat each match like do or die and if you run out of gas then so be it. But don’t go in overconfident. It will take your very best to make it to the finals.
