My guess based on what I am seeing in my world. I am sure it is similar at GSB.

Your identity is based on the school you go to. Everyone is asking each other where did you apply and what did you get in to. The hallway has all the colleges and what kids are going where. The choices of where to go often gets clouded by the perception of what that college is. Even though something could be a perfect fit if the school is "unattractive" you aren't going. Most kids at GSB are way above going to Rutgers. No one wants to hear it but it is the truth.

It is totally OK to go to Wisconsin even though Rutgers isn;'t that far off academicly.

I'm 66 years old and don't understand why the decision of some 18 year old kid from Florida who can dribble and shoot a basketball could have put such a damper on my day. Combined with a stock market that was once up big but ended down about 350 points with a NASDAQ that tanked and Tuesday was one horrible , awful , no good sucky day in Rutgers Nation.

You need to take the long view and stop obsessing every little event like it's the last. Markets up like 30% since last year - enjoy it. Pike has already brought in some 4 stars, one per year, he's freed up two more spots we didn't expect, his teams are coached very well and they've been creating some buzz. Enjoy the ride.

Guy I know has a son in CA who lost everything in the fires a few months ago, last week his dog died, Friday night his wife gets rear ended and has car totaled (fortunately no serious injury to her). RU misses out on a reccuit. Which is worse?
