Tailgating upgrades

If you don't have chafing dishes, you're just not cool.

I try to do an upgrade every season as well. This year it's new king pins for my Rutgers Bus. Wahoo!! What the heck is a king pin and why the heck to they cost so much. I could of had a fleet of inflatable dolls!!

We only use it for one tailgate a year but a portable pizza oven is fun. We make the dough ahead of time, of course, and then customize toppings for each person. We make 10 or 12 individual pizzas at a tailgate. They take about 8 minutes in the oven--ours is the Pizza Pronto oven.

I think we are going to get a 10x20 canopy this year. We've been pretty lucky with the weather the last few years, but I want to get something with the side panels for bad weather games. We've already added a propane smoker and are going to remodel our bar.
We used to bring a leather sofa and table, but ever since the squeezed the spaces in the Blue lot there's no room for that stuff anymore.

LOL, have had one since 2007 and love it !

To each his own, then. It is the closest thing the American car market has to a ute (pickup car, four-wheeled mullet), so it's got that going for it.

But, when it's with any other American pickup, it just feels like that tiny, unathletic kid with allergies whose parents forced him to play sports.

And that's considering that the Gold Standard of pickups isn't even sold in this country.

They control the steering on your bus your front wheels rotate around them which lets you steer left and right. They perform the same function as ball joints.

And are the notorious "weak link" on such vehicles - especially the old Ford 'E' series chassis.

Added a 2nd speaker already, looking to add a 2nd flagpole with a custom flag, and considering a 10x20 canopy.

Actually the best tailgate upgrade I saw last year was around Halloween in the yellow lot when a bunch of older dudes hired two gals dressed as German beer waitresses in lederhosen and skirts who served them the entire game. The guys would not let anyone else come over and take pictures with them. They would not even tell us where they found them so we could hire them.

Want to get a portable speaker. Any one have a job rocker? Just saw one on sale at Costco. 159 I think. Flag pole would be great too. Like this thread.

That was my upgrade last year. Bought one from BJs and was very happy with the purchase. Considering the small size and cost it was well worth it. Portable, Bluetooth, Plenty of battery, and pretty powerful.

Definitely one of the better sound options out there if you don't have a generator.

My advice is do it. And do it now so you have time for a dry setup. You don't want to be wasting time figuring out tent set up when you could be tailgating. :)

I got mine from Amazon, it came with all the side panels which was not clear from the description. I also ordered extra elastic attachments. They're handy but not necessary. I also decided since my friends are very visual to color code the pieces to make setup even faster. I just spray painted the end of the poles to mark them.

It takes longer to set up than an easy-up 10x10 but I was going through one of those about every season and a half. This will be my 3rd or 4th season I I've only had to replace two parts that we accidentally ran over. Get extra tent steaks and always plan on tying it down.

Edit: By the way this posts are my favorite thing about this forum and why I read it so much. I purchased the Go Galley grill a couple years ago after seeing it discussed on here and if I ever decide to get a BGE type grill it will be the Kamado Joe. Im on board with adding a tailgate feature per year. Still searching for this year's upgrade.
