Targum article: Big Ten pedigree gives new Rutgers coaching staff early advantage

Thanks, Brodo.

Great timing also, after the recent recruiting ups and downs.

Pedigree gives you a good foundation to build and learn from, but it hardly guarantees success. I admit I thought Addazio would've been good here when we hired Flood instead. Seeing what he's done (or hasn't done at Fredo) certainly suggests he would've bombed here. But yet he is from that same Urban Meyer coaching tree and he doesn't have a national championship ring; he has two. He wasn't just OC, he was an Associate HC. So what the hell went wrong?

He's at BC?

So you're suggesting the school he's at trumps his abilities? Do you think he could've succeeded at RU? What about Strong?

I actually couldn't give 2 shits about Addazio and never thought much about his abilities anyway, and never wanted him OTB. I was simply taking a shot at BC. That being said I'll take my chances with a guy from the UM/Saban trees, any day, and twice on Sundays, so hopefully Ash proves out to be the next "rising, star" and that it keeps moving on an upward trajectory!

Keep seeing it stated that Ash is from the Meyer tree - which is true to an extent - but he already had a flourishing career as a DC at Wisconsin and Arkansas under Bielema (who I don't have much respect for) before being brought in to right the ship at OSU after Fickell failed miserably.
