TCU Should Quit Now-SN Jinx? TCU Wins 47-41!!

Once Oregon lost it's starting QB and center the game flipped.

Completely unacceptable that Helfrich does not have a stable of thoroughbred QBs in the wings. That he has to rely on a transfer from FCS Eastern Washington to successfully run this offense is crap.

Chip Kelly's cell phone is ringing right about now. And the caller is Rob Mullens aka Oregon's Athletic Director.

I wonder what they'll be talking about...?

I don't disagree but Adams is awesome. The drop off after he got hurt was startling. The backup center also was a disaster. Hemust have skipped 5-6 snaps back to the QB and it cost them at least 1 TD.

This is exactly why you don't stop scoring or take knees or call off the dogs. When fans complain this coach or that is classless; this is why you show no mercy. You win by 100 if you can
No, this is why you try an onside kick down 38-22 with under three minutes left in the game. Because even a really long shot might come through.

But when your opponent has stopped calling timeouts at 2:35, you don't run the play clock down to 4 and then throw a bomb to the end zone to run up the score. That is classless. You take the concession, bring on your second and third team players, and end the game in a sportsmanlike fashion. There was no chance of losing because the other team had admitted defeat and chosen to let the clock run out.

My guess is that Shaw ran up the score because he was sore that he got left out of the playoffs (deservedly) and that his boy didn't win the Heisman (which was close to a 50/50 call).

Why do people think a game is over in the 2nd quarter when we've seen countless times that in CFB teams can make large comebacks?

I'm liking the outcomes of the bowls.

Pen State, UConn, Temple, Pitt and Notre Dame have all lost.

i figured there was a SN jinx on Oregon - just wanted to make sure....... never fails....

Seriously, when the oregon QB knocked himself out in the first half - i said to my wife -- -"well, maybe it isn't over".... though I figured Oregon only needed another 10 points in 2nd half to shut the door... (which would have been true)...

Horrible second-half situation coaching by Oregon. Dude can draw up a great offense when he has his pick of talent --- but just couldn't adjust to a 3rd string Center and an bad back-up QB. At some point - you have to go under center -- and "if that's not their offense" -- then you are a horrible coach for never considering you might need it.....

must have been 15 bad QB/center shotgun snaps...

Had Oregon at pick before the TCU QB went out to party. Line moved to Oregon minus 7. The middle was there for the taking. I'm done for the year early. $$$$

And my guess is that Shaw didn't want to send out a great group of seniors on a poor second half brought on by Iowa being completely non competitive. After an early FG in the third, Stanford had a fumble, punt and int in the end zone. Over the same time period Iowa scored 16 unanswered points and was still trying onside kicks.

EDIT: Taking out response. No need to hijack thread and definite need to get off this bandwagon.

TCU pulled maybe the most amazing comeback in bowl history, and maybe football history! Fear the frog!

Oregon's last drive in the 4th quarter was awful. They could have run down the clock. What did they do? Snapped the ball with 17 seconds and two incomplete passes to stop the clock. They had a stud running back, and they could have simply run the ball, running the play clock to single digits each time, which would have left about 1:20 on the clock, instead of 2;40. See, this is what happens when your OC leaves the team and does not coach the bowl game. Scott Frost should be fired!

Confident this will not be another Scarlet Nation curse.
Boykin suspended.
28-0.
Oregon punts with backs to goal line. TCU blocks punt, Oregon recovers the blocked punt and runs for a first down. Never saw that happen. Neither did Mack Brown. Yeeeee haw.
Rutgers had a punt blocked, picked it up, and ran for a first down against miami. I wish I could remember when.
