Tennessee's efficient recruiting

Congrats to the parents. $68,000 in high school fees/year bought them a Tennessee offer worth $30,000/ year.

Go academies!
No one knows what financial interest schools like Michigan and Tennessee and their donors have in IMG. You know that the parents of almost every athlete at IMG are not writing checks for that amount for their kids to attend. Lots of shenanigans for this wet dream of an athletic magnet high school. Would love to know how much the Michigan Athletics Dept is paying IMG for the privilege of using IMG's facilities for Spring practice. Given what Michigan pays Whorebaugh, we wouldn't be surprised.
We are playing with the big boys now. Michigan State paid to send staff and players of its men's basketball program to Dallas for the Michigan State vs. Alabama national semi-final football game. Can you imagine how that would have looked in the NJ/NY media coverage if Rutgers did the same?

+1, "When in Rome. . . "

We have a guy coming to Northwestern from IMG next season. His father said it's about $75,000 a year and estimated that most people pay anywhere from 50 percent to full boat depending upon whether they're on scholarship.

Does IMG have an endowment? Where does the scholarship money come from? If Under Armour throws them some bucks, do you think it helps Maryland recruiting? Is the Michigan IMG Sports Network affiliated with the IMG Academy?

IMG manages athletes. Having the academy allows them to build a connection with potential pro athletes early on. It's an investment for them that pays off down the road.

No offense but that's the story form the kid going to Northwestern. I want to hear from the cool kid table. Like the kid from a poor NJ city who starts at guard there.
