Tez Three

The FTs are a product of him being able to physically make a play, so while he missed 4 of them, to get 7 FT attempts is a LOT for a true freshman in 30 minutes....he probably could've gotten an "And 1" on at least one of the drives too.

But when you don't hesitate and drain a very tough 3 from the corner, that erases the missed FTs....huge, huge take and make.

Onions! Big time shot when we really needed one.

If he can get his FT% up to 73% or so next year, that would be massive with his attacking style of play.

For some reason I felt ok when he let it go... felt like he was due after he had gotten some misses out of the way.

Game saver. Doesn’t quite wash away last week’s 3, but this helps.
The single biggest made shot of the day. If he doesn’t hit that , unlikely Geo gets to hit his big 3 to take the lead. Montez was a beast tonight as every day our freshman are getting better. Myles and Caleb also were tough and hit some tough shots and played good defense. Montez is really good and when he gets his foul shooting solved during the off season, he will get double figures every night . I think he has a chance to make all conference freshman team.

I really like Mathis but his attitude needs to improve. On TV, I saw Coach Young getting on him for not going for that loose ball and he smirked at Young and waved him off with his hand.....I did not like seeing that.

That’s something I’ve been watching from day one. It’s something I’m seeing as common for young kids right now. Don’t like it either. My daughter and another girl are the best two kids on their HS team and their attitudes towards the coaches are terrible. Hope he fixes that for next year. Especially on televised games (most)

Do you remember when this happened in the game? I'd like to go back and watch.

He really is at his best in a transition game and remains one of it not our best defender. Was surprised he did not get more minutes guarding #22 in the first half. Also agree that he could have gotten an and 1 on a couple of his early drives.
