Williams

Well this is an entirely different subject.

Not sure I agree it’s an entirely different subject for me.

If he was dreadful in the first half and contributed to going down over 20 points to Kennesaw State then I prefer not to see him giggling multiple times including after the clock ended with our star 18 year old freshman who committed a pretty bad turnover to blow a chance of a comeback.

Maybe giggling makes Williams play better, we’ll see. It didn’t help him play well enough for a full 40 minutes on Sunday.

In the end we lost to Kennesaw State which is pretty damn embarrassing and not something that I personally would be laughing about.

It’s the truth about you.

You always have issues with other peoples observations if it can’t broken down by a data point.

Take your head out of the spreadsheet for once you dork. Sports are more than numbers and calculations.

No I have an issue with this observation because it’s ****ing stupid.

Leadership and mentality are obviously real things that matter and are difficult to quantify. You aren’t criticizing anyone’s leadership, you are wining like a bitch because a player had the gall to laugh during a loss that made you Big Mad.

Sorry I was busy taking care of my 1 year old and couldn’t watch the entire thrilling game against Kennesaw State on CBS Sports network.

So is it okay if I post any observations from all of the games I travel 2 hours round trip to the RAC to watch in person?

Or okay if I post any observations from the Vegas game I’m going to support the team in person for?

Or am I only allowed to post observations that you can fit into a spreadsheet?

You can post whatever you want, but if you try to diagnose someone’s leadership ability by watching 1/8 of a game on the TV you will look and sound like an idiot.

lol at you thinking the part I’m criticizing here is how much of the game you watched

Agree with you but other teams I’ve seen have totally bought into systems. I just watched Wisconsin who unexpectedly had Storr and Hepburn transfer out and plugged in Tonje and some others and they are a well-oiled machine not missing a beat. Nebraska did the same thing with a ton of new transfers. Neither play like an AAU team and Nebraska is even emphasizing a more physical style than usual. Maryland looks good too. Teams adapt and we look like a mess with no emphasis on defense or rebounding whatsoever.
Yeah I definitely get it, but I think this is a little different. The point is is that this team is so far from Pike's wheelhouse or anything he's used to. Pike prides himself on Defense, and all of his teams previously have bought in on that - this team the D is nowhere to be found and the offense is by far the engine. Before this year his big grab recruiting wise was Cliff - a very defensive minded player. Defensive players just have a different mindset - they are more lunchpail guys, more guys who are willing to do the down and dirty that doesn't show up in the stat line. This year he has 2 freshman studs who are potential lottery picks - both who are offensive minded and by default of the cache they came in with are probably the leaders of this team. I don't know if there is a strong enough personality on the team or the coaching staff that can overcome that. This team will be fun - not sure it will be one of my favorites when all is said and done.

1) You might think it’s stupid and you’re entitled to your opinion but I don’t. I’m sorry your brain isn’t capable of discussing things that don’t have a data point. You’ve shown this deficiency in past discussions as well.

2) I never “diagnosed” his leadership ability but nice try. I’m concerned with his leadership ability after what I saw but in no way have I come to any conclusions or made any diagnoses. I said it was annoying and questioned the behavior. Sorry I don’t think it’s normal leadership to be laughing away after losing the **cking Kennesaw State. Key word “normal”.

3) You’re the one who keeps bringing up the fact that I only watched 5 minutes of the Kennesaw game. So yea you were criticizing that part of my post. Apologies I didn’t catch the first half where it appears he played like @ss. Would that have helped my argument?

You keep saying this but I am literally discussing it. I'm discussing it right now! That is what is happening here in the thread you are currently typing words into.

"Keeps bringing up"? It was an offhand part of one post, what are you talking about? You think I am clowning you for not watching the game, lol, here is a secret: I didn't watch the game at all. I don't get CBS Sports Network and I was playing golf at the time. Watching the entire game would help, a tiny bit, your qualification for making these kinds of judgments but it would still be pretty silly. Unless you are, like, with the team, or in the locker room, or, AT THE ABSOLUTE VERY LEAST, analyzing statements made by the player or something as opposed to just getting mad about something you saw in a cutaway to the bench during a TV broadcast you are just making up nonsense.

There is nothing more substantive here than "I am mad we lost and that bastard laughing made me even madder."

Williams played a string of games last year where he was our best player and catalyst… At least he’s done it

Maybe you should go back and re-read your first couple posts in this thread. It wasn’t productive and I certainly wouldn’t call that “discussing”. You came across like a massive JO.

Also hilarious you have such strong opinions on my OP but didn’t watch a second of the game or even witness what the phuck I was posting about with your own eyes.

Weird to have such strong opinions on something you didn’t even observe yourself.

I may be a massive JO but that's sort of besides the point.

The problem here is you lack extremely basic comprehension (and yes I am being a JO here.. I am also right).

In your OP, you explain what you saw and how much of the game you watched. My opinion on your OP is not dependent on my watching the game. My opinion on your OP has nothing to do with what happened in the game. It's an opinion about your forming an opinion based on virtually no information.

If you read very carefully, you will notice that nowhere do I say "you are wrong, Williams is a good leader." I have no ****ing idea whether he is a good leader because I lack the necessary information. As do you. That's the entire point. If you had posted "I watched the game on TV and Williams is a great leader because I saw x,y,z during a 5-second cutover to the bench" that would be equally stupid and importantly I can tell you that without seeing the game.

You’re making this way more complicated than it needs to be.

It goes back to the basic lack of ability for you to have an intelligent conversation that doesn’t involve data or the type of information you prefer to process.

I had an opinion and you obviously didn’t like it or agree. My opinion isn’t based on phucking data, x, y z or whatever information you jerk off to. It was a simple opinion that I don’t love to see a supposed leader on team laughing during and after a loss to a $hitty team.

I don’t see the reason to be a complete *ick about my point, but you chose to go down that path and landed us here.

You literally cannot read and understand my posts, it is kind of pathetic. Nothing here has anything to do with data or spreadsheets but you bring it up every post.

I didn’t see the laughing. But, I’m much more concerned about his shooting.

Think he has to accept that he has the McConnell role on this team. We need him to be elite on D and deferential on O. His hand speed and instincts on D are impressive.

Your overreaction and inability to have a normal exchange in this thread is because it’s not supported on data or the type of information you like to get off to.

That’s my point which clearly went over your pathetic head.

“Your inability to have a normal exchange” says the guy who mentions that I like data in every post.

I know you are big mad because we lost and because your post after we lost was stupid, but try to get it together.

Okay.

Your homework can be to stop thinking like a robot all the time and reading into emotional intelligence.

I only watched the last 5 minutes of the game today but what was with Jeremiah Williams laughing multiple times when we were down….and then also after we lost the game.

Tell me not to make a big deal out of this and maybe he was talking smack but it was pretty damn annoying seeing him giggling away multiple times as we’re losing to freakin Kennesaw State.

For a guy who didn’t leave Piscataway/New Brunswick all summer I’m hoping he’s the leader on the court we need him to be this year with all of the freshman.
Bad take. He was trying to box out the 5 due to a switch and the 5 basically extended his arm and pushed him away and the foul got called on Williams. Terrible call and he was giving $hit to the guy who fouled him. Would you prefer he gets pissed, yells at the ref and picks up a T?

Williams has been smiling since he stepped on the court last year. I love it. He plays hard and leads by example. He's not a great outside shooter but he showed he can score last year. Now we have a guy who gets downhill better than anyone we've ever had and he's taking on a new role as a result.

Keep smiling J Will!

I’m not disputing that

He was playing hard the last 5 minutes but still doesn’t explain why he was laughing.

I said in the OP the one time it at least looked like he was trying to talk smack but not sure why he’s giggling away after the clock ran out with Ace after we lost to frigin Kennesaw state.

Nobody should be laughing away after a loss like that. Excuse me if I expect better out of our supposed veteran leader.
So he should have yelled at Ace?

Reread the OP.

There were at least 3 times I saw him laughing and I said he was probably talking smack on the one occurrence, and that’s explainable.

Would love to hear your take on him laughing after the game ended.

He can laugh and smile away but I personally prefer him to do that when we’re winning or after beating teams we should beat.

Not while on the verge of and right after getting embarrassed.

Dylan looked pissed as hell after the loss and I didn’t see any laughter coming from him. That’s the reaction I would expect.

No. You're entitled to say whatever you want and expect whatever you want. But no.
