The blowup Dinosaur in the student sec.gave me an idea - - - -

I think a big inflatable hammer or axe doing the chop would be cool.

Somebody should wear a trapezoid on their head (just like Cheesehead back in the day).

I've been curious what the significance is of the inflatable dinos - anyone? Thought maybe it was just a goof, as they are pretty funny, but maybe there's some message I'm missing.

Hammer and nails. Not an axe for hoops.
Btw..,the pounding nails is what BTN said. Not Pike. I'm cool with it too but since you're connected via OTB why don't you ask Pike what he wants and share. (Seriously)

He talked about how much he loves it at the Court Club meeting last week. Pounding Nails is a Jon Rothstein-ism, but the RU social media has used it and even has a gif for it.

was the dinosaur there today? if so its great. I like it because it organic and not forced upon. When the students come up with stuff that is unique to them and becomes a tradition

remember the scarlet blondes back during Waters. remember Bob Wenzel on a stick

Yeah, they had a big dino and a small one. They were bouncing the smaller one around like a beach ball.

the blondes were cool. So were the newspapers. with the RACmosphere heating back up for students I am hoping so will the creative efforts.

If I wasn't so old and busy these days, I would reboot the wigmen guys from the late 90s. This season is bringing back a lot of memories from the 98-99 season and the semifinal run at MSG. We all still actively follow Rutgers sports, minus the face paint and red hair.

I thought and I'm probably way off that Myles was nicknamed Myles the Monster so they brought dinosaur monsters in homage to him. At least that's what I told my wife and she believed me.

Maybe the “Dork!” cheer makes a return some day. But I doubt it.
Back on the 60’s for football we had the Nuts and bolts (we got screwed) and the elevator (we got the shaft (we got the shaft) cheers for bad calls by the officials

Last game, someone said that he/she thought that RU Operations staff provided those dinosaurs like they do the Fatheads so not organic at all. Not verified by me but makes sense. And also doesn't make ANY sense.

At least it is completely random and funny. At the least it gives the students ideas for other things.

I used to hand out newspapers before games to students. I had Mike Jarvis (St. John's head coach) jokingly ask me why people were so interested in the news at a basketball game.

Doesn't even need to have the same criteria for selection as back in the day. Just pick a starter and stay with it all game...unrelentingly and mercilessly
There was a guy @Chags and I started on from GW back in the A-10 days and he got really rattled. So much so I felt a little bad about it.

Five second chant (directed at the ref) was a pretty good one too.

"Water Girl" serenade for female GW manager was probably the most creative. She also gave the students the finger.
