I truly believe Greg can get us close to competing for a national championship by 2024. If you look at GS’s two main recruiting grounds of NJ and FLA, we should be able to land consistent top 25 classes. Not to mention all the inroads hes made while at ohio state, particularly in ohio. So figure we pluck a couple of regional prospect 5.6-5.7’s out of ohio.

1) Hire a dynamite staff that can recruit. I think this will be zero problem. Ill say it until im blue in the face, Schiano will be able
To offer assistants something that is so so so rare, the ability to hook on with a coach and keep your family in one place for a decade plus because imo assistants will realize the respect GS has in NJ, the admiration the RU fanbase has for GS’s as well as the fact this is truly home for Greg in every sense. This will results in unprecedented continuity on an RU staff. He’s made his money, he’s set for life, he’s reached the highest level, this is about coming home to finish what he started.

2) Land Jarrett Guarantano as a grad transfer. It’s no secret that things arent going great for JG at Tennessee and from watching the film and hearing greg mcelroy’s analysis, alot of it comes down to hesitation. He feels JG is so worried about making a mistake because the rabbid fanbase wants his head, that hes holding the ball too long. With GS here and a fresh slate, coming home might be a great option for him. With JG next year, this should allow us to win at least 5 games which will look miraculous (despite really not being a big deal but the bars just been set so low due to ash) and this will continue recruiting momentum to land a big time class.

3) Flip Michael Alaimo. Root against purdue this year, if they have some bad losses and GS comes home best believe his first call will be to michael alaimo. Alaimo is going to be a STUD college qb. Let Alaimo’s father know the plan is to land JG and redshirt michael and then have him be a 4 year starter and bring the state a national championship. I really think GS could flip him, especially with his brother being here. This would generate a ton of buzz and open alot of eyes setting GS up for a great early start for the 2021 class, his first full class.

4) save 4-5 ships for grad transfers, transfer portal guys and jucos. Plug a few holes to increase 2020 season success. Go after an interior lineman or two as well as an OL or two. Also try to target a safety and WR. Obviously save one for a qb like JG. If we could plug a few holes for the 2020 season, we could surprise alot of people as we’ll be very upper classmen laden.

5) continue to build on the 2020 season success in 2021 with reaching 6-6 and go bowling, sell recruits on going from 2-10/1-11 in 2019 to bowling in just 2 years and continue the recruiting momentum. Land your best class to date. Personally id cancel the cuse series if babers is still there and plug an easy cupcake from the sunbelt onto the schedule in 2020 and 2021 to increase the chances of bowling.

6) 2022, now alaimo is a RS-SO qb and has a lot of hype around him and the team. Land a signature win this year over one of the teams we havent picked off yet (this year is our toughest schedule of all time imo) and continue the recruiting success.

7) 2023, now theres some real quality depth on the team, this is now the year to take a giant step forward and go 8-4 and punch every team in the mouth. Recruiting momentum continues, stadium consistently sold out, were lauded as a tough place to play again, hottest ticket in town.

8) land one more great class and 2024 go for it all. Alaimo is now a 5th year senior, 4 year starter surrounded with the most talented RU team weve ever seen. Id personally cancel the va tech series which is set to begin this season and schedule 3 cupcakes. Beat those cupcakes in week 1 and 2 and then Penn State comes to town week 3. Sold out stadium, night game, raucous crowd wills the team to a win. Replace va tech with a cupcake the following week to avoid a let down game and get to week 5 at home vs indiana and beat them to hit 5-0 leading up to the biggest game in program history @ohio state.

If Greg comes home, his vision will be realized. I truly believe he can have us competing for a national championship
