How many foul shots did we miss? You conveniently left that out?
In the last 8:50 we missed 5 foul shots. In that same span, SJU missed 7 foul shots. You'll have to dig another excuse out of your never ending bag.
It was a bad loss. Futility over the last 12 minutes erased a 14 point lead, and we didn't call timeouts to stop the bleeding. They outshot us and outrebounded us down the stretch. While up 59-58 late in the game, we allowed three shots and three offensive rebounds in one possession before ultimately fouling and allowing them to take the lead on two free throws - we just weren't in position to rebound, which EJ later said wasn't a skill he worked on in practice(!).
And then we followed it up two days later by winning a dogfight against a terrible Central Arkansas team.
Do you know him? I hate to come across like an EJ defender because I think he has done a poor job, but honestly I find some of the comments in this thread personal in questioning his work ethic and accountability. I would certainly hope people who are leveling these types of charges are doing so based on personal experience. Otherwise that would seem unnecessary and unfair. It is enough to say he has done a crappy job. Why the need to imply he doesn't care? And, yes, I have met him and I believe he cares deeply.Eddie has taken never taken responsibility for any of this team's failures. He has said or implied that his team doesn't have heart, doesn't get it what it takes, doesn't try hard for rebounds, etc. and that the fans don't get it either.
In the meantime, he has the worst P5 program in the country, his best two players are suspended, and he has probably the weakest class in the B1G coming in next year.
I'm sure he didn't "want" these injuries to occur, but a person like this is surely going to to use it as an excuse. Just look at his track record - he's filled with excuses and has never been accountable or taken responsibility for any of this mess.

I 100% agree with that, except the last part as I don't really judge classes until they actually suit up (if Johnson and the three verbals are on the court next year, I think our talent level will have increased and not by a small amount). It is totally fair to say the results have been unacceptable. I wish people would stop there is all I am saying.I have nothing against him as a person - he seems like a good guy. I don't question his character or his commitment or any of that.
I just think he's out of his depth.
Justin Goode is in the same boat. I'm sure he's a good kid, hard worker, high character... but he's out of his depth. That's no fault of his - he was offered a scholarship and took it, and is trying his best. Jordan was offered a contract and took it, and is trying his best. I'm sure they both knew it was going to be a lot of work but had high expectations.
Until the waves started cresting over their head, and they just weren't succeeding the way they had hoped.
We had a glimmer of hope at a .500 season this year if everything broke right... and if we found some success, there was a glimmer of hope that it might translate to a second strong recruiting class... which might have opened into a brighter future. Things didn't break right, though, and that class didn't materialize.
Yeh there were a few bad calls that hurt us, but we had our foot on their collective throats in that game and let 'em get up with undisciplined play and unforced errors. If I remember the St.John's game one of our players was fouled and nothing called. Hope we don't have to play them anymore, tired of getting no calls vs them.

RU had 13 point leads which were lost because of coaching
It's great that the players came out in support of Jordan with a statement in the media and something or other on Twitter. If my boss was a nice guy who didn't hold me accountable for very much I'd probably say nice things about him too. A better show of support would not be getting oneself suspended for four games during a critical stretch when your coach's job is in the line.Ask any athlete, yourself included (if you played - not flame just don't know), and they will tell you (if they were on the court/field/what have you) they have never blown a 13 point lead because of coaching. Players make plays.
Luckily, the Rutgers players know this, which is why they all stick up for Eddie. And before you say what else can they say, according to you and others, some could easily transfer at the end of the year. They don't have to make unsolicited statements or posts of support.
I blame Eddie for two things:
1. Horrible defending on screens.
2. Outwardly attacking fans.
But after reading posts from guys with pitchforks on this board I may have to look passed #2.
I guess you just went with whatever you thought would stick to make your point. Try looking at the play by play. Rutgers built a 16 point lead with 14.53 left , then Greg had a turnover, Corey missed 2 foul shots and St. John"'s scored 8 straight and Eddie called a timeout at 12.43 with the lead at 9. Out of the timeout DANIELS scored in5 seconds, obviously a play set up by Eddie and then Laurent was fouled at the Tv timeout at 11.40 and he hit both shots to go back up 14. St. John's went on another run 8-0, cutting it to 50-44 with Ru having 2 turnovers and missing 3 shots, and Eddie called another timeout at 8.50 left. From that point to 4.10 left, the lead was between 7 and 3 as neither team scored a lot. There was another Tv timeout at 7.10 . Corey then missed a one and one at 4.10 when we were up 5 that could have extended lead back to 7, and St. John's hit a layup to cut it to 3. Diallo hit a bucket to put it back to 5 at the Tv timeout at 3.23. They missed and Daniels was fouled at 3.14 and missed another one and one that would have pushed lead back to 7,They hit a 3 to cut it to 2, then Corey missed a layup and they were fouled and hit both to tie with 2.34 . Cor y gets fouled at 1.56 and makes only one of two to go up one. We foul and they hit both to go up 1 at 1.20. Daniels gets shot blocked and down 1 with .28 seconds DJ misses another one and one to take the lead. We foul with 17 seconds , they miss both . Then you might have forgotten but Corey got tripped and lost the ball and the ref swallowed the whistle with 9 seconds , down 1 . Daniels then hits the three just after the buzzer. In the last 8:50 we missed 5 foul shots. In that same span, SJU missed 7 foul shots. You'll have to dig another excuse out of your never ending bag.
