The leak has been plugged...

There was more than one leak..he was the biggest one and the most shameful.

Goodbye and Good Riddance. I am so glad that Barchi is digging deeper into the athletic department and jettisoning those who have their own agendas and interests at heart rather than just Rutgers. If there are any other holdouts at the lower level hopefully they will be removed too

What was his motivation for leaking information? Its amazing that someone at this level was undermining the dept.

Bac has to be right there was more than one.

Of course I have no way of knowing if he was or wasn't but it's pretty obvious there was more than one from the "multiple sources" that were always being quoted.

If you cut the legs of the highest ranking "source" that does show people who thought they're untouchable that they could be next.

I'm not so sure hes been plugged. According to the article... "It is believed that Kirschner will remain with the university in some capacities, but Rutgers officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment."

wasn't the other leak jason baum? are there still more left?

Jason was never the leak. It was Lucci and others that falsely told Julie that it was Baum. Barchi is finally cleaning house and it is for the better as RU had a cancer from within in many areas of the Athletic Dept.

Bac, what was his agenda for the leaks? Did he want some other AD?

Good lord how many other places have so many competing agendas as RU athletics?

Jersey gon Jersey, I guess.

What's our obsession with the leak??? If he was giving media info, there's gonna be someone else also leaking stuff.

Interesting quotes in Dunleavy's article considering Kirshner served as interim AD twice in the past:

"Interestingly, when Rutgers fired Hermann at the end of November, president Robert Barchi went outside the school to search for an interim athletics director. He choose Pat Hobbs, ombudsman for Gov. Chris Christie, and quickly decided to give Hobbs the full-time position."

“I was not considering an internal appointment from an internal candidate at all this time,” Barchi said at the time. “I evaluate all candidates internally and decide whether or not I think they would be qualified to do the job. My decision was that we didn’t have anybody internally qualified to do it.”

He was also a professor of Spanish on the faculty. Guess his affiliation with the faculty elite took precedence over his interest in the athletic dept

Someone had said that the leaker was upset being passed over for a position in the athletic department.

Kirschner has been reassigned to a cubicle in the basement where his only contact is with the custodial engineer. Connect the dots people he's one of the leakers. You don't reassign someone who's department has been exceeding expectations. Also he fits the bill of someone who is a long tenured employee who was passed over for promotion.

Is he upset about his red stapler?

I heard this months ago and I wasn't too sure about it. Apparently he wanted to be full time AD

He absolutely was NOT the only leak. I'm going to assume the OP knows this and his comment was more general, as in, "that should be it now."

@mx_150
hes been there since 1976..and thought he should have been the AD.Listen to the thread starter ..he knows..The rat is out.

Oh no doubt he absolutely WAS one of them, however from the start I, and others, said there were "multiple" leaks.

Do you think that Lucci with his friends at the papers can leak info also?

I think Luicci is too professional to do that. He isn't pals with Politi or Manahan, and Duggan came after he left. I'm guessing he has a good relationship with Sarge , from when Sarge was with the Home News. He has a great gig now, why risk that ?

Kirschner and Baum leaked plenty. Flood & Julie leaked shit against each other now and then.

we had a very dysfunctional department where everyone wanted power and to push their agenda. Hopefully with Hobbs now and no more Julie all these silly vendettas from the TP people don't sabotage the department. We now have an AD and head coach on the same page this time.
