The most prolific home run hitting team in program history The most prolific strikeout throwing team in program history Oh, and there's still...

Like I've been saying...this is a very good team (not to be confused with "great")! Now let's win a title and solidify things!!! I'm excited to see Michigan take a game or two from The Twerps!

Watched Tennessee vs. Georgia tonite as I always like seeing the different level of pitching talent when comparing the B1G vs. ACC vs SEC vs PAC vs B12 . The starter from Tennessee was throwing upwards of 97 mph which is really bringing it. Plus his 86mph slider was pretty decent. After 8 innings Vols up 5-2. Number 1 in country and looked the part. Oh and nice stadium to boot.

Maryland wins G1 8-7….

RU 16-5
UM 14-5

…if Terps win last 5 we need to sweep for co-champs.

…if they lose 1 we can lose 1 (sweep gives us title outright)

…if the lose 2 we can lose 2 (2 wins it outright)

Correct? There’s no “head-to-head” tie-breaker?

Minimum we need 2 of 3 next weekend against Michigan . No less than that.It was never going to be easy as Maryland is also a very good squad.

There is and Maryland would be seeded over RU in the tournament

Think your spell check is off? Seeding vs. Seating. Have a great day GoRU!!!!!!!

Obviously there has to be a tiebreaker to determine seating in the tournament. That’s not what I said. I was talking about being regular season co-champs.
Irrelevant. The tournament decides who the conference champ is and who gets the AQ spot. So it would appear that the top seed in the tournament has the best argument to claim reg season champ.

It is NOT “irrelevant.” The B1G crowns REGULAR SEASON champs in every sport (other than football) - like most conferences -to go along with the tourney champs. This would be a HUGE step for our program, under Coach Owens, so quickly.

Agree completely. They would both be regular season champions, regardless of the accounting applied to determine who is #1 seed in the tournament. That would be a very good and important thing...

Numbnuts, you answered your own question. If they finished tied, they are regular season co-champs and Owens and the team can rightly shout to the heavens that they are regular season co-champs with Maryland, but for whatever it is worth, Maryland would be the higher seed. In 2011 Illinois and Mich State finished with identical records and both were declared conference co-champs. Illinois was seeded #1 over MSU in the tourny and beat MSU in the final game to earn the AQ to the national tourny. So Ill was both conference co-champ and tournament champ.

No…my ORIGINAL question was regarding a TIE-BREAKER for the REGULAR SEASON title. Apparently we don’t have to worry about that as there is not one. I never said a single word about seating for the postseason tournament. You did.

Reading comprehension…Asshat.
