THE OFFICIAL RUTGERS-IOWA PREDICTION THREAD

Maybe we duplicate RU’s best road performance of ‘18-19 with a combination of Noah, Andre, Derek bombing away from 3 as RHJ did in ‘19. Of course the win 4 years ago was revenge fueled after the crazy JW buzzer beating backwards banker 2 weeks before…..as with Seton Hall, I think RU does better with less rest, so playing again right away, after a strong second half at OSU, will be beneficial. Not the blowout of ‘19, but I think RU wins 69-62..

Eventually Gavin will break out offensively. We need it to happen sooner than later
We all realize Gavin knows the definition of what a good shot is.
He knows exactly what a good look feels like and exactly how his body feels when he takes one.
He needs to shoot or not be on the court, but he’s not going to break out by forcing up contested ugly looking shots that warrant an immediate “bad shot selection Gavin” the second he takes it.

That needs to be addressed and rectified in practice

What if we should be only playing 9

There is (I'll be genourous) minimal chance that playing 9 guys instead of 10 is the difference between winning and losing in a game.

That one player would have to be worse than the entire sum of the other 9 players good - in significantly less minutes than the other 9 combined.

FWIW (since not directly to your point) look at the average UConn box score. Hurley plays his top guys like 35+ minutes every game. I hate UConn but there’s something to be said about shortening the rotation and extending minutes.

10 has been bad and has taken 7s minutes.

I agree but the staff is probably telling him to keep shooting. He has to know what a good shot is and try to get some easy buckets as well and attack off the dribble
