THE OFFICIAL RUTGERS-NEBRASKA PREDICTION THREAD

Before the Michigan debacle, I really thought this game was ripe for the taking, Nebraska coming off a high of an unexpected win, made it even more plausible. However, after the way we looked @ Michigan, I have lost hope. Rutgers keeps it close(r).

Nebraska 31
Rutgers 17

If I may......i can't even predict how this one turns out. We have yet to put two wins together and have looked absolutely lost in our away games in Illinois and Purdue. If Tommy is on, we are tough to beat, but he can make some bonehead plays still. Defense is getting stronger and we are playing for a bowl game shot so there should be no reason to come out flat. Good luck and injury free!

Believe me, huskerbux, if things follow the usual script designed for RU by our current coaching staff, your Huskers will not only win the game, (by a comfortable to very comfortable margin), they'll probably set a few 2015 season records in the process, especially with the kind of offense your team runs, along with the fact that you mentioned your "D" appears to be getting stronger.

Anyway, as you said...Good luck and injury free!

This was my upset special coming into the season. Based on Neb playing MSU the week before. About a month ago I though RU would have a real good shot at this. RU has been beaten down and they lack confidence in all areas right now...especially on defense. Nebraska's losses have been very close and late. The big win last week sets them up to possibly finish 6-6 and be bowl eligible (would have to knock off Iowa in the last game). RU looks to me like they are about to call it a season.

Nebraska: 38 RU: 17

Knights No Show Defense(TM) marches on + the pressure to win at Nebraska =

NU 41
RU 27 (w/Carroo 4qtrs)

NU 47
RU 13 (Carroo <4qtrs)

Nebraska can move the ball and has "life" after series of tight games, against very good opponents, including 4 losses on the final drive and 2 including "hail mary's." The Huskers come in with "MO," and we have ZERO, and they rolled up the yardage and points on MSU, so:

Children of The Corn - 52 (with 500+ yards of O)
Jersey Boys - 24

I take offense to that nuts.

Once again pro RU fan here and pro whoever helps us win.

You guys still suck. Need better fans.

No, the fans are just fine. What we need are better coaches.

I'd love to see this staff come up with a game plan that actually works this weekend, plus show it can make meaningful adjustments to counter whatever the Huskers might be trying to do, especially during the 2nd half. It would be a welcome and refreshing change and I WANT them to show they can do it. ...But the question is, will they, or more to the point, do they possess the ability to do that?

And I'm in no way new to Rutgers football. I've been an avid fan of this team for 54 years, (which is only about 4 years short of the time I've even been around), am a Rutgers grad, as are more than half the people in my family, and even have a late Uncle who was a starting RU lineman back before my time in the early '50's, so my ties to the Knights run deep.

I've watched decade after decade of lousy performances and shit shows on the field by RU and thought those days were finally behind us, but the current coaching staff seems to be taking us for a stroll down Memory Lane...and not in a good way.

If you think unquestioningly following a coaching regime that appears like it's leading this team over the edge and into the abyss again constitutes being a good fan, then have at it. -But I want better for this school and for the people who follow this team.

If people here didn't care about Rutgers this board would be dead like so many other boards with few fans.

EVERYONE here wants Rutgers to be successful and win as many games as possible. The best way to make that happen is clear and that is to FIRE FLOOD!

The Cornhuskers keep on trucking and roll Rutgers 49 - 13

This game depends completely on Carroo being healthy and our ST's.
One of the biggest problems our D has had(besides no pressure, game plan or coverage) lol is field position.
Carroo changes that for us. We can all see the difference he makes. Even if we don't score, we can usually move the ball. That then puts the pressure on our punting game. We need Neb to have a long field all game and for us to finally get some chances to start dives outside of our 15 yd line.
Carroo healthy and it is a one score game. And that being the case, I have to be a fan and point it our way.
RU 34 Neb 31

Carroo out- Neb 37 RU 13

Nebraska comes out flat after big win but still gets by.

Nebraska 35
RU 27

Barchi and Julie are satisfied with the close loss and Flood is still happy with Laviano as the QB. Flood remains as the coach for next year and HR transfers to UC Davis. sigh...

Nebraska has most of their injured players back.Even without them their losses were mostly very closely contested games. They played well but needed a bad/lucky review to win last week. They have their MO JO back. RU would have to play a near perfect, focused, hard nosed game with good calls and good breaks to beat Nebraska. As ALWAYS I want us to win.I hope we do. Watching and Waiting.:sunglasses:

This sucks. I just have no interest in predicting a score. The corn shuckers win.

This isn't a "hopes and dreams" thread - we all WANT a "W" on Saturday and will be cheering the team on - this is a PREDICTION thread.

The biggest hope for Rutgers is the wind on Saturday which might neutralize the Nebraska passing attack. The fact that Rutgers has no pass defense counters the wind rationale.

Nebraska 30 Rutgers 10
