Basketball Rutgers Basketball stuns Nebraska on the road with three-point barrage

For those scoring me on complaining about refs.. I had no complaints tonight.. well.. not many. We got away with some stuff and so did they.. but, in general, the calls against us were real calls... except for 2.. Meah manufactured a couple calls against Sommerville... and, of course, Ace getting that late call.. BS... but he travelled on that end of game before the clock-stop-foul so it balanced out.. all we need is a fair whistle to compete.

The announcer made a good observation. Ace has happy feet at the free throw line. He needs to chill out some before he walks up there.
Honestly don’t think it matters what a player does when he first steps to the line. As long as he’s set when he begins his shooting stroke.

Yea, it's irrelevant. He stops moving his feet and sets before he even bends his knees to get into his shooting motion

That said, his current routine isn't working so he may want to consider a new routine. He obviously is a much better shooter than his FT%

Lmao dude he does it every year (except last season).

It’s crazy. I fell for it AGAIN.
he did it last year..remember 10-10....then 3 awesome games and everyone starts talking ncaa tourney at 13-10 and then they lose 7 of their last 8

2 wins in a row...take them one at a time because we need much more

I have no issue with him trying something different. I also notice he does not want to stand on the line waiting for ref to toss him the ball. He backs off until he see the ref is ready to give him the ball and then does his little shuffle routine. I think it is just a way for him to try to shoot in some sort of rhythm versus from a set position.

I think mag coming back from injury sparked those wins iirc. Then he got hurt or whatever happened again and that was the end of that..

Refs were a bit inconsistent, and missed several calls against both teams. A few things broke against us, a few things broke in our favor. Overall, I think we got a slight benefit from that inconsistency

Any idea how many 10-8 Big ten teams have made the tourney?

Bailey’s release at present is much better than earlier in the year
Bailey as a whole has played excellent the last 8 games versus the first 8

47% from field, 37% from 3 are both pretty strong for a volume shooter

More importantly 9 rebounds per game over the last 6 games and 2.5 blocks

Let's focus on 1-0 each game...

You win at Penn State for another Q1 win you suddenly have ALOT of juice heading into MSG against Sparty
I’m not interested in a counseling session. I asked the question as more of a trivia question because I’m wondering how many times it’s been done.

He didin't know if there was 0.2 or 1.2 on the clock when he dunked it.

eh - I don’t know. Sometimes the safe play is to do your normal thing. He’s not a guard, and he’s a frosh. Did we really want him dribbling around trying to evade defenders and possibly going off his foot out of bounds or something with a second to go. I think finishing the transition press break basket was the right play in that situation. Take the points.

Doesn’t count exactly but in the Covid year - Purdue lost to us on 1/28 and that put them at 11-10. Then they rattled off 3 wins and were in most projections for the field or at least the bubble. Of course - they didn’t have any losses like Kennesaw.

You're welcome! We've figured out the Mush, and it's Me!

I turned it off down 15-6. Recorded it. Watched a show with my wife and went to bed. Woke up, checked the score, rewatched it. No stress!
Yeah, but you missed out on the ride in the last part of the game....not knowing if RU would win or lose...as they took over the game...and won on the road...breaking Nebraska's 20-game home winning streak. It's not the same when you already know the result.

Did u not see Ace take like 6 steps w/o a walk call?? He got the Lebron treatment and we were spared a crucial turnover
but that was after several calls that should have gone our way. but, yeah, that was a bad no-call in our favor.

Nebraska was very handy but it was us who were called for touch fouls.. it was weird that way. But as I said above, compared to teh norm, this wasn't bad officiating against us.. my standards are low.
