Grammatically, it sounds better. But technically, the 5 conferences are not fully Autonomous. They are still part of the NCAA and governed by NCAA rules. But they are part of the NCAA Autonomy System, which gives them autonomy in making certain rules without full NCAA approval. They are Autonomy Conferences because they are part of the Autonomy System (just like BCS Conferences were part of the BCS system). I guess since those 5 conferences are also the 5 conferences that have NYD contract bowls within the CFP system, you could call them CFP Contract Conferences or NYD Bowl Contract Conferences. However, that terminology would include 64 schools (excluding UND), not the 65 Autonomy schools.
