Nope.. but he is still out..

The ball is there before the foot.. even if you can suggest that a 1-square inch corner of the plate was exposed.. how can you give that to the runner? He looks just as out as he does safe.. that's why this play will be discussed forever.

I think that in 1955 it was more important that he was safe on that play than it is today. It was certainly important for the Dodgers as they finally won a WS.
