Thiam and Kiss Production

The biggest indictment is not recruiting shooters and basketball players.

The odd thing about Kiss is that he has the highest vertical leap on the team but does not utilize it when he shoots or to crash the boards for rebounds.

In fact his outside shot seems more like a quick release on the way up, almost a set shot, versus elevating and shooting at the top of his jump.
Vertical jump is overrated. It's not going to make you that much better of a basketball player.

YOU HAVE TO TEACH POST UP MOVES. This is clearly not being done, and Harper is a very good post player. I've seen it.

It is clearly not?

Come on, you don't know what's clearly being taught or not. These sweeping overexaggerations are getting ridiculous (I don't mean by you specifically Chow just overall). I would say it's more likely they are being taught (and you can probably find video of them on the Rutgers Twitter over the summer) and players haven't developed them as quickly in game as we'd like.

Peter Kiss has a physical talent, normally useful in the game of basketball for grabbing rebounds or shooting over opponents, and yet he underutilizes it, IMO.

Pure jumping ability won't get you many rebounds. Rebounding is about anticipation, position, angles, leverage, tenacity, lower body strength, and heart. Then, maybe jumping ability. If you spent any time on the court, you'd know that.
Also, not many leapers use their jumping ability on their jump shot. If you were jumping 100% on a jump shot, you wouldn't make many.

Spent plenty of time on a bball court, moving my feet on d, boxing out my man when the shot goes up, and wait for it, using my leaping ability to outrebound other guys also going for the ball. Same with shooting off the dribble and being able to stop and pop, the way Geo does it as he elevates. Never said leaping by itself makes a great rebounder or a great shooter. Just that Kiss underutilizes that particular physical skill, IMO.
