I want a coach that is going to care enough to email a professor . Barnwell could be an important component to this football team . I am happy to see flood take some imitative here . This can actually help recruiting .
I have no problem with Latviano and co getting into some harmless trouble . A first half suspension against Norfolk state won't kill us . This is a good sign the program is coming along . I don't want to go back to the Shea days when guys were behaving and some good ones were flunking out of school . Don't ever lose sight that the most important thing at this level is winning . Breaking some minor rules and laws is fine . We just need to win !

Breaking rules isn't fine else why have them? And breaking laws is never ok! You can't teach selectivity in the name of winning...EVER!
The premise of your point is well taken RUHouston...it is however quite out of touch with what goes on in the real world we live in ...from our own government on down we have been breaking and bending rules and laws for years now...is it ok?... no...What appears to have happened is an over the top reaction by a supposed erudite Rutger's prof...Flood learns a B1G lesson... don't assume everyone is on board and pro sports...maybe during the season Rutgers can have this prof receive a game ball under the goal posts touting their wondrous achievements in the field of academia...marry it along with Sergeant,Politi and Duggan for their vast fair and unbiased take on Rutgers...We have arrived as a program and with that comes more scrutiny...but a little bit more visual scrutiny by the New Jersey hack media core of writers.

So does James Franklin use how he acted inappropriately with a rape victim as a recruiting tool?

Agree with much of this post. It would be better for players to not break rules, of course, but as far as Coach Flood goes, if it is within the rules to contact professors, then this is good stuff. Schiano used to have the professors let him know if the players missed class or didn't sit in the first three rows, so contact appears allowable. The intent of the contact would be the issue, but asking a prof what a player needs to do to do better seems to me to be within bounds.

This attitude, that anything is ok as long as you win, or there's an acceptable excuse for any behavior, is what's getting this country into the mess it's in.

Something tells me that these little trials and tribulations brings this team closer together and Flood gets overwhelming support from the community.
