...I had no idea we played, let alone beat, FDU last night, and I'm not even afraid to admit as much.

well I didn't even bother going and I think for the 2nd time this year actual attendance was about 1K and the students haven't even bothered to show for one game like they usually do.

its an embarrassment of a program of epic proportions..an abyss

Admittedly, I did follow the game from my cozy confines of my California home. I had predicted we win this game, but I did have to chuckle after we won, thinking we may only get one, maybe two more wins the rest of the year especially if Freeman is on the shelf.

As for Hobbs, don't think for one second Hobbs doesn't know what needs to be done. He won't be like Mulcahy. He knows and follows BB. He knows what a dumpster fire this program is and the changes that need to be made. Most importantly, he notices that one of our best revenue sports to support the non-revenue programs hasn't been cutting it for a long time. We need the revenue of the men's BB program to support other non-revenue sports and not depend just on football.

Gives me hope.

Make it so, Hobbs.
Make it so.

Support other programs? Are they even supporting themselves at this point?

You mean he knows we need BRAND NEW FACILITIES RIGHT NOW AND THEN JORDAN WILL BECOME A GREAT COACH?!?!??!?!

Sorry...couldn't resist :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I got a chuckle out of that. In actuality, when the new facilities are in place EJ will be long gone.

I'd like to get to that level of disinterest. I'm trying.
Hey ruman, "disinterest" means you don't have a horse in the race, you are objective about the situation. "Uninterest" means you don't care about something, you have no excitement about it.

I know, I know, board grammar police and all that. But, sometimes guys carry over small mistakes like this to the work place, so I point them out from time to time.

Me too completely forgot there was a game til I was listening to fan and Bruce from bayside mentioned we beat FDU and I have my parking passes in the car and I said I guess there was a game last. I consider my thousand I paid for tickets my donation to RU sports

I have one season ticket in the 200s. I walked up before a wrestling match to check out the view from the seat. I'm not sure I will be there once this season. It's sad. $$$$

The 2014 NCAA Report has everything you need to know about RU Athletics' finances, where money comes from and where money goes. Both football and men's basketball receive 0 student fees and 0 direct institutional support. Football netted just under $2mm while men's basketball netted just over $1.2mm.

I was there. Season holder, have gone to all so far.Student section was respectable at Monmouth game and the RAC was loud, when RU was making comeback. Student section virtually empty for FDU (2 days before Xmas - break time) and overall sparsely attended. Our favorite NJ newspaper had no story on the game the next day -disgraceful. Emotionally exciting come from behind win. Game itself was ugly for 30 of the 40 minutes. Lewis had a double double (horrible first half, good second half). In absence of other injured bigs (Freeman, Diallo and Shaq), he has to stretch to his limits.

and succumbed to a first class nap !

Keep posting on the games.

Its nice to have a narrative on what transpires at the venue......

2 days before Xmas.....so i dont blame the students for not showing

since this is the 1 active thread of the day I'll post it here. Couple of quick observations from the stats..

Williams...27 mins and 10 rebounds! Nice effort as usual
B. Danials..24 mins and not a single assist. (shocking..lol)
Goode..17 mins and didn't even attempt a shot. JHC...grow some nuggets and get some confidence. How can you not on any on a team that shoots 30% ?

I was there. Sat in the 100 level for the first time (court side excluded). Gotta say two things - Sight lines good. Comfort level not. Tiny seats!
