I really thought it was a tad nasty, but Coach Reeve of Minnesota said that there was no player in this years draft that will be in the league in 4 years. Lobo said there wasn't a 2nd or 3rd rounder with a chance this year, apparently.Nice coverage! Thanks for sharing that. You could sense that she's still a little down about last night, but it may just be a blessing in disguise. It may just provide the additional fuel needed to make the roster.
WNBA is really tough in regard to roster spots and so many very good players are getting turned away. There may be some first rounders who don't make the cut or last after a year.
Dang!! Is she including her own picks too?!I really thought it was a tad nasty, but Coach Reeve of Minnesota said that there was no player in this years draft that will be in the league in 4 years. Lobo said there wasn't a 2nd or 3rd rounder with a chance this year, apparently.
I can't believe these folks can "predict" so accurately - since there have been surprises going all the way back to Becky Hammon in the past. So while I think there are some players that have no chance of making teams, and others that probably won't stick, the exact individuals are TBD. There are less than 12 roster spots actually available, FWIW, unless one of these players out-duels a veteran.
I've got nothing but time on my hands so I'm gonna work on a list of those with whom I am familiar, and that I am betting on to make the cut.So while I think there are some players that have no chance of making teams, and others that probably won't stick, the exact individuals are TBD.
Erica is another player that proves my point - it isn't always the most hyped players that work out.Arella had some great lines in this presser, talking about how she didn't need extra motivation but now feels like GMs have "poked the bear." I thought she, as always, was gracious, humble, and motivated. It's tough to make any WNBA roster, but she'll have a great mentor in LA with Erica Wheeler--who went undrafted before becoming an all star.
