Tonight : UNC v Pitt, WVa v TCU, Oregon v Ariz St

Narduzzi has done a pretty damn impressive job as a first year HC, even w a somewhat weak schedule. Tonight's a good test. I'll root for Pitt I guess. Same with W Va , I'll root for our old conference mates.

FYI.
Probably worth watching the Carolina game, because DC Chizik is on short-list for most coaching vacancies if
we end up with one. FYI.

It'll be interesting to see how Pitt handles UNC's spread.

I also like Meacham's offense on TCU and he's in the next tier for me after Fuente/Herman so I always try catch some of their games if they're on.

Sounds like Narduzzi is reverse Mike Riley. 5 of 6 wins by 1 score.

Two game winning FGs for their FG kicker this year. Blewitt doesn't seem like the appropriate name.

Not a bad sked but still glad it's not us.

Saturday nights are so much better.

Looks like Narduzzi's defense is having trouble with UNC's spread. 20-3 UNC.

UNC's defense seems improved a bit this year too. Last year ranked 118 but this year up to 36 in total and 16 in scoring defense.

That's what you get when you spend 600-700k on a coordinator.

Narduzzi plays a team with a pulse.

Losing 20-3 at halftime. His clock management left three on the field before half.

I'm sure Chizik has helped some but to be fair their schedule looks quite a bit easier this year.

No Clemson/ND/ECU offenses to face like last year. They've face GT/USCe/WF/UVA/Illinois thus far as their top opponents and I don't think off the top of my head any of them have a strong offense at least if I judge by their overall records. Duke is up next week although I'm not sure their offense is that strong either.

WVa getting the short end of EVERY CALL. They are the Red Headed Step Child of the Big 12.

I hear what your saying in the second paragraph but I think the bolded is just as true.

Now as "just" the DC he has to worry about only one part of the game. I think for a guy like that it matters/helps.

He was a good DC at Texas IIRC, not sure how well his defense did at ISU and Auburn when he was HC.

It's hard not to improve from 118, lol. It's just harder to gauge really just how much improvement there is though when the competition on offense hasn't been good. Even Pitt's offense tonight is in the 90s I think.

Didn't we destroy North Carolina in last year bowl game? We would be 5-2 in the ACC battling for the ACC title. Flood can do well in the ACC.

But that's what I 'm saying...maybe DC is his thing.

At Auburn everything was already in place. I think he "Larry Coakered" that. Not sure about ISU.

4th qtr party? I hadn't seen that before. I wonder what they'd do if they actually had the lead, lol.

Sure no doubt, some guys are better coordinators than HCs. I don't know if that's the case with Chizik or not, could be.

I think for sure he's contributed to their improvement on defense and they have improved. I'm just saying it's hard to tell how much they've improved because of the low level of competition on offense.

118 to 36 in total and 16 in scoring and on first blush you're like wow that's a real big improvement in one year. Take a little deeper look and see who they've played and you're like okay it's still a nice improvement but maybe not as wow worthy as you first thought.

Miami vs. Rutgers North, and, Interception, Logan Ryan!!!

I definitely can't stand PITT but they aren't very good. Their defense got gashed and their offense is putrid.

I have no dog in this fight but my word WVU is getting screwed by the refs tonight

If we had Pitt's record going into this game, half the board would be decrying the crappy teams we beat and the other half would be decrying why we were not ranked. Pitt had a bunch close wins against crappy teams.

We might win the ACC if we were there this year. Lol

I agree with Knight Shift on that one.

TCU's QB is ridiculous. WVU's coach giving him a high 5 after one of those crazy elusive plays was pretty cool.

Narduzzi looks like a lunatic at times screaming at the officials and his own players.
Speaking of lunatics, have you checked out Fleck on the sideline of the E/W Michigan game? The guys winning by 30 in the 4th quarter and still raising hell.
