6 of the top 10 are Big Ten. It's like the SEC in football, but better. Pretty awesome stuff. RU Wrestling really seems to be picking up steam. Gonna be fun to watch.

I'm pumped! B1G wrestling is the Platinum Standard of college athletics. And we only lost by one point to Oklahoma, otherwise we're be even higher and they'd be lower (I think).

Congrats to your wrestling program. It's only going to get better IMO. The cool part about wrestling is there are only so many dominant schools and limited scholarships/positions. With the amount of talent we share between PA and NJ, PSU and RU should be able to absolutely clean up.
I know I posted this before, but 23% of NCAA qualifiers last year graduated HS in PA. That is really an astounding statistic IMO.

On entry into the Big Ten, I predicted that RU wrestling would be national players first, followed by soccer. Not a tough prediction, given the great depth of talent in those sports in NJ. Still, very happy things are looking that way.
Next meet is at #2 Iowa on Dec 10, then home vs #5 Nebraska on Dec 12.
Later in the season we host #9 Michigan (Feb 7).

Two teams in the top 10 at the same time - that is a Rutgers first - very cool. Now if MBB and FB can just ratchet it up a bit, things could really start heading north all around.
Not only 6 out of the top 10 but 4 out of the top 5 is absolutely absurd. I love what Coach Goodale is doing, went to my first match last year and will be going to a few this year. Give it a shot if you haven't tried it, it's great. Lots of energy in the RAC for the matches. You can start following and get an idea of the rules by watching on BTN.
We got robbed in that Oklahoma match. Lewis had his man pinned the kid screamed injury to his shoulder. After injury timeout the kid continued to wrestle with no apparent injury for the next two periods. Total bush league by the Oklahoma kid.
Me too. Going forward, they should make sure that PSU wrestles Rutgers every year.
It's like that every year. Where 1-10 are usually ranked with 5 or 6 in the top ten. It's been the premiere conference for a long time now.
141 will be tough to stay at for ash, but if he moves up he would need a great off-season, as 149 is where you start to see wrestlers combine style with good strength.
That's why I was asking. I think Retherford probably stays there again next year but who knows. Some of the younger kids for PSU have looked pretty impressive for PSU thus far. Gulibon has been his usual self though and we are going to need him to step up and earn some team points when it counts. For the life of me I can't figure that kid out.
