In episode 3 of the "Back to School" Tri-State College Basketball Podcast, Bryan DeNovellis sits down with Rutgers head coach Steve Pikiell who's beginning his 8th season with the Scarlet Knights. With a new-look backcourt and some key transfers, Pikiell has beefed up his non-conference schedule (Princeton, Mississippi St, Seton Hall, Georgetown) as Rutgers looks to return to the NCAA Tournament, after narrowly missing out last year. Rutgers features the return of center Cliff Omoruyi (First Team All-Big Ten Defensive Team/All-Big Ten 2nd Team) as the focal point. Pikiell also expects Aundre Hyatt and Mawot Mag (coming off a season-ending injury) to play key roles. Pikiell discusses the development of sophomores Derek Simpson and Antwone Woolfolk, as well as the additions of transfers Noah Fernandes (UMass) and Austin Williams (Hartford/FIU), and Top 50 freshman, Gavin Griffiths.

Great interview! Wish the season was starting tomorrow, ha.

I know "football drives the bus" both in college and professional.
But I love basketball through and through.

Rutgers is already practicing. Season starts in like 6 weeks
Nets start training camp next week and season is less than a month away.

You really don't have to qualify your love of basketball. It's okay.
