I am putting my faith in Hobbs to make a good hire for the program. I believe he is the man for the job and I will rally behind whomever he hires.

I put no preconditions on who he hires. Whoever he hires, has my support, and hopefully yours too. Let's not be like the people on the football posters whose immediate reaction to Chris Ash's hire was to question it being made, because he wasn't THEIR CHOICE.

We are fortunate to have Hobbs as our AD. I cannot imagine a more competent determined and focused person as athletic director. In years hence we will regard his hiring as the turning point in Rutgers athletics. What an excellent hire.

I agree for the most part. I think the only hire RU has made since I starting supporting athletics that I could not get behind in any way was Flood. At least Rice/Jordan/Hill Jr had some things about them that you could point to and think there was at least a chance of it working out in the end.

Don't think I have to worry though about a Flood-type hire with Hobbs.

Listen, most supported the Ash hire, however, the few who didn't were very, very vocal about it no question. That being said you're nuts if you think people who don't like a hire aren't going to let it be known.

Pat Hobbs gives me hope. So beat down by this dreadful program for decades - he has finally provided some light at the end of the tunnel.

I think my post is more relevant now than it was when I first posted it.

Guys, let the process play itself out. Let the press conference play itself out. You will not be disappointed in Hobbs' choice!

Interesting to compare posts from then and today. Complete 180 by some people.

I trust Hobbs but am apprehensive about the Williams talk. I'll support whoever.

In some ways I'm more nervous about this hire than football because I feel like the right guy can make an immediate difference.

Hire Williams and be done with it. Gotta make sure he has good assistants. We need a young guy that won't mind living out of a Marriott for the first few years, while he recruits the World. Hurley has a family, while Williams will be free to travel the Earth in search of talent.
