The thing that was crazy to me was that he achieved Rutgers’ last triple double prior to Dylan by getting a double in blocks. Who does that?! Loved Roy!Watch Hinson play. He came into the lane guys would travel because of his shot blocking ability.
I will bet there are Not too many triple doubles in NCAA history that includes 10 blocksI believe also had triple double vs Stanford or Oregon that year.
Shaq and Cole Aldrich are the two men to have done it in the tournament. No idea about overall.I will bet there are Not too many triple doubles in NCAA history that includes 10 blocks
It was done 91 timesShaq and Cole Aldrich are the two men to have done it in the tournament. No idea about overall.
Thats it?No ever
That’s with double digit blocksThats it?
Didn't one come against us by a mid or low major
The three years he was here. All 3 years the highest plus minus despite not playing as many minutes as other starters.
Did he also not fumble a rebound or loose ball out of bounds down the stretch there that was also critical? Not blaming Myles btw for the loss but I think he had two plays down the stretch that hurt there if I recall correctly.Agreed – – he missed that because he could not elevate – – would’ve grown the lead to 10, but the fast break off the missed dunk led to a three pointer, and it was a five point game. Would not have lost that game if it went in.
Could/would never dunk. Missed tons of easy layups.Terrific rebounder
i agree with you 100% he was a SOFT center. Was he one of RU’s best? Certainly. But both can be true. He transferred to UCLA and played a secondary role.. great kid, great RU ambassador— but I will always think of him as soft. He could never finish plays and was afraid to attack the rim on offense. Why would i take the L? Missed the biggest layup in hoops history, regressed under Cronin, hurt OUR
team by leaving. Cronin sold him a bill of goods. And what’s wrong about our engineering grad dept.
I honestly feel with another year of development under Pike he could have been a pro backup. He had some tools but Cronin made him a human screener. Sad to see with that potential. Remember we root for Rutgers not UCLA.
That speaks more to the abilities of his back-ups than it does to his. The other starters on those teams had stronger back-ups, so the team's production didn't suffer as much when the starters were out.The three years he was here. True.....but that almost always be the case with centers. Most of him being the most impactful player to wear the uniform since 1988 was the fact he was 6' 11''That speaks more to the abilities of his back-ups than it does to his. The other starters on those teams had stronger back-ups, so the team's production didn't suffer as much when the starters were out.
Unfortunately, and it may be unfair, that play is the first thingGreat career at RU
Biggest moment was a missed dunk vs Houston
Roy had a career in the NBAI love Myles but No he was not even the third best player on that NCAA team. Geo, RHJ and Caleb were all better. With all due respect, to say he was better than Roy Hinson may be the dumbest comment I ever heard on this board
A long oneRoy had a career in the NBA
And was traded for a number one draft pick along the wayA long one
RU went from 4_years of James Bailey to 4 years of Roy HinsonCould/would never dunk. Missed tons of easy layups.

way back when I used to tell people who were only marginally familiar with RU MBB - "EVERY single RU starting center over an 8 year period got drafted in the first round."RU went from 4_years of James Bailey to 4 years of Roy Hinson
Was a great 8 year stretch for RU
Okay.. I'll bite as if it was a real post. The guy should be in the NBA as a back up big making millions. Too lazy to fill his destiny &
transfers to play for Napoleon Kronin who basically ruined him. Only at RU this would be the outcome.
Showed no loyalty to RU who developed him. And the snake Cronin promised him a bunch of BS.
Basically left us at the altar & his legacy was a missed wide open dunk. Only at RU
You have this right. And don’t forget that Myles redshirted here for a year. The extra year at UCLA was a bonus for him to further his education and play some more. I am actually bummed that we won’t see Myles-type players any time again soon.Okay.. I'll bite as if it was a real post.
He is from Long Beach CA. Wanted to go home for his final year and pursue his high-level EDUCATION at UCLA.
With Cliff coming in... I don't think any real Rutgers fan thought he had abandoned the team. AFAIK, we all wished him well.. I guess except for you and those who "liked" your comment.
Who's that guy at the 1:08 and 1:20 mark? 😉Loved Myles from day one, probably due to how good of a student I knew he was from the get-go, as a good friend of mine who I was in grad school with at RU (chem eng'g) was a prof/administrator in the dean's office in the eng'g school when Myles made his campus visit before coming to RU. She was his primary tour guide and became his academic mentor, since they hit it off well (they both spoke Japanese which probably helped) and she was a huge fan of his on and off the court as he was a great student/leader. He may not have reached his full potential as a hoops player at RU, but he made some strong contributions to some of our best Pike teams. And hard to fault him for heading back home to UCLA for grad school after doing so well at RU. Seems like he's doing quite well with a bright future, as per his LinkedIn bio.
Actually Tim jumped up for the catch and the ball rebounded off his knee and into the hands of L’ville defended. Saw it up close. The jump put Tim’s catch timing off. Oh well one really bad play. Nevertheless, he was a personal favoriteMike this is an interesting take because I blame that loss squarely on the botched ineligible receiver call by the refs taking a TD off the board. I don't even remember this Tim Wright play.
But as for Myles the Monster, unfortunately, yes. That missed dunk against Houston likely cost us a trip to the Sweet 16. Hard to swallow. But I love Myles and all he represents as the idyllic student athlete.
Myles graduated from Rutgers and was free to use his additional year of eligibility however he wanted. He didn’t owe Rutgers anything. Why would i take the L? Missed the biggest layup in hoops history, regressed under Cronin, hurt OUR
team by leaving. Cronin sold him a bill of goods. And what’s wrong about our engineering grad dept.

The sad part about your commentary here is that he actually may well be on his way to filling his destiny (and then some) and there's nothing lazy about how he has put his energies into pursuing that. Your projecting what his destiny should be was not one that his sights were ever set on.Too lazy to fill his destiny
