Football. Why leave the Big East which is a top tier basketball conference?
They would stay in the big east if they are giving up on footballI thought they were happy playing basketball in the big east and football doing the independent thing . They are able to claim national championships in both sports (football 2020 and basketball 2023) doing this. That is pretty impressive
Because football would wither away over timeWhy leave the Big East which is a top tier basketball conference?
Yeah . I thought they did give up on itThey would stay in the big east if they are giving up on football
Independence in football is a death sentence for just about every football program except you know who
ACC or big12 would be a lifeline for football
They are able to claim national championships in both sports (football 2020 ....
National champions football 20 and basketball 23 . You missed Hurley’s team dominating the ncaa tournament ?huh?
Wouldn't Europe make more sense, maybe that's next
Uconn - $30M payout to leave BEIf they get an invite and turn it down it will be the biggest mistake in uconn athletics history.
Its not like they are going from the Big East to the AAC for basketball. The Big 12 will be best basketball conference in the country. You also put your football team back into a power confrence, your baseball team moves to a better confrence and you get a ton of $$$
League games overseas as a money grab... It's dumb in the NFL and it's even dumber for college sports. Like these TV deals aren't enough? I really hate where this is all going.Wouldn't Europe make more sense, maybe that's next
Why leave the Big East which is a top tier basketball conference?
That money will be made up in less than 1.5 years.Uconn - $30M payout to leave BE
Otherwise, they'd jump at the B12 invite for sure - still think they would but that's a big payout to leave
the Big 12 is even betterWhy leave the Big East which is a top tier basketball conference?

Big 12 Payout $31.7 million per team
Big East Payout $4.6 million per team
Big 12 is paying our 40M + to 10 member institutions next iircUconn - $30M payout to leave BE

A recruiting tool too. More and more players over there.League games overseas as a money grab... It's dumb in the NFL and it's even dumber for college sports. Like these TV deals aren't enough? I really hate where this is all going.

UConn won't be able to recruit top tier football players as a member of the Big 12.Same problem Rutgers is facing in the B1G Ten.Because football would wither away over time

Yeah it’s linked below . National champs by ny times .it had to be clear that "huh?" referred to your reference to national champions in 2020 for football. I guess you missed how I didnt comment on basketball 2023
What I find interesting is that about 5 years ago, the B1G 12 was probably in the most precarious position compared to the PAC 12 and ACC. Even more recently, they were in bad shape a couple of years ago when Texas and Oklahoma announced they were bolting. Now, it looks like they might be the only one of the 3 standing as a power conference within a few years. The PAC 12 could become the Mountain West as early as this weekend, and the ACC is only a GOR away from being ripped to shreds. Well-played by the B1G be proactive in adding some schools and sitting back and watching the other two conferences wait for the vultures to circle. If you guys aren’t paying attention, like the B1G and SEC, they B12 is ready to make a power move with Colorado UCONN and others. Some say they are just waiting for the PAC to implode. Some say they are just waiting for Colorado. Who knows. But it’s coming. And the B12 will be around a little longer than we all thought.
There is a big difference between being an independent football team and a lower level team in a major conferenceUConn won't be able to recruit top tier football players as a member of the Big 12.Same problem Rutgers is facing in the B1G Ten.
