UCONN transfer Vance Jackson visiting

Remember, he was a freshman and most freshmen are going to have ups and downs. He really struggled with his shot early season, but he improved as the season went on and ended the year with a good 3 pt FG%. That said, he benefited from Jalen Adams kick outs on drives to get open shots. He seems to be a good shooter, but he struggles to create his own shot.

He isn't a ball hog and he generally took good shots later in the season. Like I said previously, he seems to be a college stretch 4 that wants to be a featured 3 who hasn't developed a defensive mentality. Coach Pikiell has some Jim Calhoun in him and if he comes to Rutgers, he will make him play defense, which is why he may not end up at Rutgers.

Thanks for the insight. I was just concerned by the many forced shots and lack of passing in the highlights from those first 11 games.

Washington = closer to home. Down year however, losing a potential #1 pick. Who knows.
Baylor = Was very solid, probably will have similar to less minutes than at Uconn

hoping he picks us.

It's not going to show times he decided to pass on a shot and swing the ball

Fair point.....but, it did show times where he should have passed but chucked up an ill advised shot. Saying a guy only forces up bad shots 30%, 40% or whatever percent it may be is not something you want from a player. But, as the UCONN said, his shot selection improved over the 2nd half of the season.

I agree there was certainly some poor shot selection there. That jumped out at me too, but it was his first 11 games as a freshman. I'm sure Pikiell and staff will make sure his shot selection improves.

I hope we can bowl over this kid on his visit today... a talented 6'8 SF that can shoot it is just what we need so hopefully, knowing its a longshot ,maybe he commits after his visit! It would be quite a splash for the program. Hoping for a dream come true scenario.

Jackson would be a far far better add than Kiss was. Jackson shot 48% from 3 in AAC play, whereas Kiss was 26% in the MAAC. It's not even close.
Because the 3 pointer is the only stat in basketball that matters on this board apparently

Visit just getting started and will last through Sunday night or Monday AM.....long way to go to determine how its going so far....
