Pretty good start to conference play.

Hard to see the interest in playing for a team that is part of the 0 wins.

Its beyond embarrassing that Uconn has so few womens competitive basketball games.

Maybe USF will give them some level of competition today, :boxing:.Game on 5 PM today, ESPN2.

Only way they give them some level of competition is if the UConn women play with their legs taped together.

I will give Cincy credit though, they did win the 4th quarter. That’s an accomplishment.

Embarrassing for who? UConn? The AAC? WBB Basketball in general? Perhaps all three? What was embarrassing was that a team that had 19 wins (Cincy) only scored 5 points in the 1st half last night. UConn's defense was relentless, but 5 points? None in the 2nd quarter? If there's a God, he'll get us out of the AAC.

Not sure how much of the 100-0 credit goes to UConn vs. the lousy conference they play in. If they played in a P5 conference, they aren't likely to be 100-0, but you never know. We can only hope that the conference improves with time as the old Big East did, because with our football program, I don't think we're going anywhere anytime soon.

Many teams have played with UConn in the 4th quarter when all of our subs are in.... which, by the way, is disturbing. I thought we had a decent bench this year, but aside from Stevens, nobody has been worthy of any court time (except Megan Walker on occassion) in a close game. Doesn't look like Geno is going more than 6 deep during the tournament, which is typical for him anyway.... but, if we have foul trouble or injury issues and have to go to the bench, that will be ugly.

Ewecon,:
Your post shown a true UConn fan's defense of a great program.
If RU was that good I'd be proud of it and defend my Scarlet Knights just as passionately , but might not be so nice doing it.
I feel it's not up to any program to try to let other programs catch up competitiveness, but it's up to the other programs to find a way to be on par , with the best, and maybe better then the current top program.

Hopefully someday : the Rutgers WBB program will have Women's college basketball fans complaining about how good they are :cool2:

They’re all just spoiled and bored. From a UConn fan’s perspective, the AAC is a snoozefest. Yet another 50 point win, yawn....

ya know there was a time when we were (almost) right there with UCONN and ND and had the ville looking up to us.

That conference is pathetic. But the men are having problems playing in that conference.

Hi madhat, I wasn’t really trying to defend the program as much as I was saying that being 100-0 in the conference is the result of playing in a terrible conference. I really miss the old Big East, and especially our games with RU and ND. Thank God Geno schedules strong teams out of conference or the season would be a complete snooze fest instead of just a partial one. I try to ignore the score and just watch UConn play, but even I hate the 40 point blowouts in conference.

Maybe be 99-1 or 98-2 in a P5 conference in same period of time.

True. But while UConn might expect to win every game in a P5 conference there would be games every year that they had a chance of losing in. In the American, G-d help them, the talent level just isn't there. USF fields respectable teams but leans heavily on European recruiting. No one else has shown much consistency, although I would say that Temple (obviously an off year this one) and UCF could also be in a P5 conference, they just would be in the bottom half of most as currently constituted.

Connecticut does what a good team in a bad conference should do: Play a great nonconference schedule. They did, and they in most cases kicked its ass.

Nobody forms a conference based on women's basketball, but hopefully the American will do what ACC football eventually did when they let in Florida State. By then, UConn might have come to its senses and dropped down in football and begged the Big East to take it back, which I'll acknowledge is less of a help for the women than it is for the men.
